Steven Knight’s returning BBC drama with Jack O’Connell gets first-look trailer

As someone who has been captivated by the thrill and grit of war dramas for as long as I can remember, I am absolutely thrilled to see the return of SAS Rogue Heroes! The first season was a gripping exploration of the origins of the Special Air Service (SAS) during World War II, and I’m eager to delve deeper into their European campaign in the second instalment.

The BBC has released a first-look trailer for SAS Rogue Heroes season two.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that the captivating series, “Peaky Blinders,” masterminded by its creator Steven Knight, is coming back for another season! Last year alone, it managed to garner a whopping 6.8 million viewers, leaving us all eagerly anticipating what’s next.

Featuring Jack O’Connell, along with Connor Swindells and Dominic West, the trailer unveils the plot for the second part. The soldiers are depicted setting off on a journey in Europe during the spring of 1943 in this upcoming instalment.

In the opening scene, Lieutenant Colonel Dudley Clarke, one of the founders of the SAS, states that the European campaign will transform Africa into a seemingly casual gathering, or as he puts it, an “ordinary tea party.

This time, you’ll recognize characters like Paddy Mayne (O’Connell) and David Stirling (Swindells), who are leading the group. However, unlike previous times, a fresh character is now part of the action.

In the second season, actor Gwilym Lee from “Bohemian Rhapsody” will be part of the cast, portraying Bill Stirling. He is the older brother of David Stirling and is known for founding the 2nd Special Air Service (2SAS) regiment.

It’s fair to assume that the soldiers aren’t particularly friendly towards him. However, his dedication is undeniable as he presents Mayne with a tough decision.

He stated, “In our regiment, my brother served as the delivery nurse. However, I’m adamant about not being the one who confirms death for it.” The question then posed was, “Are you willing to rescue the SAS or not?

As per the official description, it’s stated that David Stirling is now a captive, and Mayne assumes command of the SAS during their European operation, receiving assistance from Bill Stirling.

The GHQ has raised questions about the survival of the regiment, as a second unit is being formed and fresh recruits are joining, adding complexity to the situation for the soldiers. Can they demonstrate that the Special Air Service (SAS) is still crucial for the war, no matter where it takes them?

Sofia Boutella once again takes on the character of Eve Mansour in season two, while Theo Barklem-Biggs, Corin Silva, Jacob Ifan, Jacob McCarthy, Stuart Campbell, and Bobby Schofield rejoin the cast as Reg Seekings, Jim Almonds, Pat Riley, Johnny Cooper, Bill Fraser, and Dave Kershaw respectively.

The second season of “SAS: Rogue Heroes” doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but the BBC hints that it will be arriving on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, as well as MGM+ in the USA soon.

As a hardcore gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I can now stream SAS Rogue Heroes season one on BBC iPlayer! Can’t wait for the action-packed adventures to continue as season two is set to grace our screens very soon!
