Davina McCall reveals she is having brain surgery today to remove a tumour as she begs fans to ‘pray for her’

Davina McCall has revealed she’s undergone brain surgery to remove a benign tumour.
On a recent Instagram update, the 57-year-old television host disclosed some personal health information about herself. She announced having a scarcely prevalent colloid cyst, a condition that impacts merely 3 out of every million individuals.
She explained that she received the diagnosis by chance after booking in a full body scan.
In the video, Davina mentioned that she was given an opportunity for a health checkup, which she believed she would excel at. However, the results revealed an uncommon, benign brain tumor, occurring only once every three million cases.
For a short span, I chose to ignore a problem that measures about 14 millimeters across. If left unattended, it could potentially worsen, which is undesirable. I’ve decided to have it taken care of.
She added: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.’
She shared that although there was no imminent danger, the doctors were worried about potential complications should the tumor continue to expand.
Davina’s spouse, Michael Douglas, shared the video on her behalf, writing in the post: “Hello all! This is Michael speaking. Davina will temporarily disconnect from digital platforms as she undergoes this brain surgery and recovers.

A colloid cyst is a slow-growing tumour typically found near the center of the brain. The benign growth contains gelatinous material.
Most patients present with headaches, although other symptoms including vertigo, memory problems and double vision can occur.
In case it’s sufficiently large, a colloid cyst can block the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain, potentially causing a significant risk of abrupt or unexpected death.
