As a die-hard fan who grew up in the ’90s, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia every time Hugh Grant’s charming smile flashes across my screen. From his iconic roles in romantic comedies like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and Love Actually, he’s become an integral part of my generation’s pop culture history.
Despite playing a villain in his recent film “Heretic“, Hugh Grant remains an iconic romantic comedy heartthrob from the ’90s at heart.
In the upcoming year, the actor will reprise his role as the suave ladies’ man Daniel Cleaver in “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy“. Meanwhile, another one of Grant’s beloved romantic comedies is being aired on television tonight.
Four Weddings and a Funeral airs on BBC One at 10.40pm this evening (Friday, November 15).
If you happen to miss it, don’t fret! The film can be watched later on BBC iPlayer. Additionally, you can choose to rent or purchase it on Amazon, iTunes, and various other online stores.

Under the guidance of director Mike Newell and screenwriter Richard Curtis, this film chronicles the experiences of a close-knit circle of friends who share in the joy of attending four weddings and the somber moment of one funeral.
The story focuses on Grant’s Charles, who has been very unlucky in love matters so far. However, everything seems to change when he meets a beautiful American named Carrie (played by Andie MacDowell) at a wedding, and falls instantly in love.
Despite the fact that it appears their meetings are never quite at the right moment, it seems as though fate is guiding them together since they continue to encounter each other during various festivities, hinting at a potential romantic connection.
Among this stellar lineup, you’ll find me sharing the screen with the likes of Kristin Scott Thomas, James Fleet, Simon Callow, John Hannah, Charlotte Coleman, David Bower, Corin Redgrave, and none other than the hilarious Rowan Atkinson. What a dream cast!

1994 saw the debut of “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” which marked the beginning of Hugh Grant’s popular series of romantic comedies, encompassing films like “Notting Hill” and “Love Actually.
Following a brief detour into horror with “Heretic”, the English actor is now set to revisit the world of Bridget Jones with a new installment, as evidenced by the recent unveiling of its first trailer.
Recently, it was disclosed that the storyline for the upcoming movie is quite “melancholic,” as it derives from author Helen Fielding’s actual personal misfortune.
On The Graham Norton Show, he shared that her tale was heartbreaking. She wed an American screenwriter, had kids, and tragically lost him.
She transformed it into a novel akin to “Bridget Jones,” which is both hilariously amusing and heartrendingly tragic.
Four Weddings and a Funeral airs on BBC One at 10.40pm tonight (Friday, November 15).
