Comedian Jim Gaffigan admits using weight loss drug Mounjaro to shed 50lbs

As a follower who has struggled with weight issues myself, I can truly empathize with Jim Gaffigan‘s journey. His story resonates deeply, not just because of his comedic prowess, but due to the relatable struggle we share. It’s inspiring to see someone like him, who’s battled weight for most of his life, finally finding a solution that works for him.

Jim Gaffigan sports a fresh, stylish image that aligns with his current Hollywood resurgence, showcased by his side-splitting portrayal of vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz on Saturday Night Live.

58-year-old comedy icon, known for his recent witty remark about President Trump, disclosed that he has shed approximately 50 pounds, reducing from a peak weight of 270.

‘I feel good,’ he told People on Thursday. ‘I’m just grateful because it’s such a better life.’

Gaffigan attributes his weight loss to Mounjaro, which is the trademarked name for tirzepatide, an effective diabetes medication also proving successful in promoting weight loss.

Though he was initially skeptical, he gave it a shot.

He confessed that his initial anticipation was quite low. Previously, he knew someone who had attempted it and their response was, “Ugh, I felt sick for an entire week.” Yet, he hoped that his genuine love for food would triumph over any potential discomfort.

However, as the weight began to decrease, he became fully committed because he had been battling his weight issues throughout his life.

In my earlier years, I found myself pushing hard to exercise twice daily, all with the goal of maintaining a slim figure so I could indulge in my favorite foods. However, as time marched on, my metabolism began to slow, my knees started giving me trouble, and fatigue became a constant companion, making it increasingly challenging for me to maintain my fitness regimen.

Last year, Gaffigan’s doctor suggested weight-loss medication, and he didn’t hesitate to try it. ‘

He recalls saying, “I’ll give it a shot,” driven by his knee discomfort and slightly elevated cholesterol levels.

Surprised by the stigma surrounding it, he decided to be open about his experience.

He commented that it’s surprising when folks seem reluctant to discuss the topic, explaining that altering one’s looks or behaviors isn’t uncommon, just like some people choosing to dye their hair blond.

‘I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it,’ he quips. ‘Whatever gets you through.’

On November 22nd, I’ll be glued to my screen as I eagerly tune into Hulu for the premiere of Gaffigan’s latest stand-up special, “The Skinny.” It’s not just a comedy show; it’s a heartfelt exploration of his personal weight-loss journey that I simply can’t wait to delve deeper into!

Gaffigan has joined the increasing group of famous personalities who are resorting to diabetes medications for weight management purposes.

Introducing Bonnie Chapman, the 25-year-old daughter of “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” who has been open about her remarkable 58-pound weight-loss experience.

Bonnie shared that within a span of 10 months, she successfully reached her objective using tirzepatide, which is the exact injectable medication as the one Gaffigan employed.

Bonnie stated in her Instagram video, “I haven’t weighed this much since my pre-teen years. I’m incredibly proud of my journey that led me to this point.
