Last Night in Soho star Thomasin McKenzie joins Margaret Qualley in Victorian Psycho

As a long-time enthusiast of captivating performances and gripping narratives, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming psychological horror thriller, “Victorian Psycho.” The fact that Thomasin McKenzie is joining Margaret Qualley in this movie is already setting my anticipation levels sky-high!

Following her spellbinding portrayal in “Last Night in Soho“, Thomasin McKenzie returns with another compelling, suspenseful character. She’s set to team up with Margaret Qualley from “The Substance” in the forthcoming psychological horror-thriller titled “Victorian Psycho”. We initially heard about this film in October, and it appears production is progressing well.

The film “Longlegs” is adapted from an upcoming novel titled “Victorian Psycho,” penned by renowned author Virginia Feito. Feito herself is writing the script for this movie, with Zachary Wigon (known for “Sanctuary”) directing it. Dan Kagan of “Longlegs” producer fame, under his Traffic label, will produce this film in partnership with Sebastien Raybaud and Wigon. Additionally, Anonymous Content is involved in the production. Nick Shumaker and Bard Dorros serve as executive producers for this project.

Apart from that, Anton is not only funding the film but also handling international distribution rights, while sharing U.S. rights with UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance. Recently, their production, sales, and financing firm, Anton, introduced the movie to potential buyers during the American Film Market.

In the year 1858, I find myself stepping into the eerie, secluded mansion known as Ensor House, my new assignment as a governess. My tasks are simple enough: teaching manners at the table and enlightening the children about their ancestry. Yet, there’s something sinister lurking beneath the surface, for it seems that none suspect the darkness within me, the psychopath hiding behind this young woman’s facade.

As Winifred assumes her duties, mysterious and inexplicable staff disappearances take place, causing the estate’s proprietors to become wary of their new governess and suspect that she might be responsible for them. Qualley has been cast as Winifred Notty, with McKenzie taking on the role of a nursemaid at Ensor House who develops a friendship with Winifred.

Apart from her leading part as Eloise “Ellie” Turner in the movie “Last Night in Soho”, McKenzie has gained recognition for various roles she’s played in films like “The King”, “Lost Girls”, “Old”, “The Power of the Dog”, and “Eileen”. She is set to appear next in the biographical drama film “Joy”, scheduled for release on Netflix on November 22nd.

As a gaming enthusiast speaking, I’m pumped to share that the main filming for “Victorian Psycho” is rumored to kick off in February 2025! According to Deadline, we might be seeing more cast announcements as we inch closer to the start of production. For now, we’re just keeping our fingers crossed and waiting for updates on this upcoming horror-thriller!
