As an ardent fan, I must say this heartwarming story of Kobe White has left me absolutely smitten! The dedication and effort he put into learning Greek to serenade his girlfriend is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s not every day you come across a man who not only has the voice of an angel but also the heart of a romantic poet.
Australian Idol star Kobe White has surprised his girlfriend with a very heartwarming gesture.
The singer, 24, took to TikTok recently to share that he had learned a Greek song in secret.
The song, Athina Mou by Konstantinos Argiros, is his partner’s favourite in the language.
In the widely-shared video that amassed more than 2.5 million views, Kobe can be seen seated at a table, with his girlfriend reclining on a bed in the backdrop.
Music then pipes through his computer and to his girlfriend’s astonishment, he begins to serenade her in pitch perfect Greek.
He captioned the video, ‘Singing for my GF’s favourite song in Greek and not telling her I learnt the language. She was SHOCKED. I tried,’ followed by a crying emoji.
Fans took to the comments of the video to share their joy at the singer’s talent.
‘You did such a great job. Your voice is amazing,’ wrote one.

‘This!!!!! We don’t want money from a man we want effort. We want heart,’ wrote another admirer.
‘Omg, from a Greek girly – this was incredible! You are so good!’ someone else remarked.
‘Didn’t understand a word but the tone gave me goosebumps,’ one more person said.
1) Not only did the video resonate with global viewers, but it even piqued the interest of Argiros himself, leading him to release the song back in 2020. (Paraphrased using a more conversational tone and simplified sentence structure.)
The acclaimed Greek singer reshared Kobe’s sweet video on his Instagram Stories.
On Kobe’s TikTok, you’ll find a recurring theme with him singing to his girlfriend, usually found cozying up on a sofa or bed in most of the clips.

This year, the vocalist managed to reach the final 21 on the Australian Idol comeback; however, they were removed from the competition after performing Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man,” which eventually placed them sixth overall.
Kobe has a growing social media presence, having accumulated over 660k followers on TikTok.
His other singing videos often reach hundreds of thousands of views.
Since leaving Australian Idol, the musician has continued to develop his own music.
Apart from performing cover songs, he also composes original music based on his own life events, such as his seven-year romantic involvement. These pieces delve into common themes like love, grief, and self-development.
