Timothy, who had been married to actress Prunella Scales for a remarkable 61 years, was not alone at the time of his passing, as he was surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement released on Wednesday by his representative.

Piers Morgan posted a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable individual, accompanied by a picture taken during his appearance on My Life Stories.
He wrote: ‘A wonderful actor, and delightful man. My Life Stories interview with him, as the love of his life Prunella Scales sat in the audience, was so moving.
They had been married for 61 years, and his unwavering love for her, even after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, was deeply moving.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m saddened to share that after a remarkable journey filled with both on-stage and off-stage adventures, my beloved father, Timothy West, left us peacefully last night in the comfort of his sleep. At the ripe age of 90, he closed the curtain on an extraordinary life.
In the closing chapter of my life, I found myself surrounded by the love and companionship of friends and kin. I bid farewell to this world, leaving behind my beloved wife Prunella Scales, who was my partner for an extraordinary 61 years. Alongside her, I am also survived by a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The void they will feel in their hearts upon my absence is immeasurable. We shall all grieve for me deeply.
We are deeply grateful to the extraordinary healthcare professionals at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, and Avery Wandsworth for the compassionate care they provided during his final days.
