Nicole Richie and Emma Roberts are a chic duo at star-studded Didion & Babitz book launch in Hollywood
As a lifelong bookworm who has spent countless hours immersed in the pages of countless novels, I find myself in awe of the vibrant literary gathering that unfolded at the recent book launch for the posthumous work of Eve Babitz. The sheer number and caliber of celebrities in attendance was nothing short of astonishing, with Emma Roberts, Beverly D’Angelo, Elizabeth Olsen, Lili Anolik, Nicole Richie, Alexi Wasser, and even Da’Vine Joy Randolph gracing the event with their presence.
At a glamorous gathering in West Hollywood for the release of the Didion & Babitz book, Nicole Richie and Emma Roberts both looked stylish and elegant.
At the Baby2Baby event, the TV personality, aged 43, unexpectedly encountered actress Emma Roberts, 33, who was also present, at the Chateau Marmont during the celebrations. The TV personality’s younger sister, Sofia Richie, was also in attendance.
The book, penned by Lili Anolik, hit the shelves on November 12 and delves deeply into the lives of noteworthy figures Eve Babitz and Joan Didion.
As an ardent admirer, I found myself amongst a vibrant gathering of celebrated personalities, all there to mark the launch of this much-anticipated novel. Amongst us was none other than Richie, who undeniably stole the spotlight in a striking, floral print gown that elegantly contoured her silhouette.
The gathering was supported by straps resembling a halter and featured sleeves that hung off the shoulders, cascading downwards.
In the middle, Nicole’s hair was smoothly divided, cascading gracefully in gentle curls beyond her shoulders.
In my opinion as a lifestyle expert, I’d say I complemented the ensemble with an eye-catching pair of earrings that harmonized with the hues of my dress, and further accentuated the look with a vibrant collection of rings to add some sparkle.
For the evening, the star’s makeup was elegantly styled with a coat of mascara on her full eyelashes and a delicate touch of eye shadow around her peepers.
A rosy hue was introduced to give a luminous effect, and a shiny, neutral lipstick color was applied as the final detail.
Richie took brief breaks to pose for some pictures while socializing with other attendees at the gathering, and was also noticeably chatting with the audience.
At one point, the Simple Life star held a black folder in her hands as she seemingly read excerpts from Anolik’s new book.
The novel delves into the dynamic between both Eve Babitz and Joan Didion, as well as their varying relationships with Hollywood, per Deadline.
Babitz primarily worked as a visual artist and author, becoming famous for her novel, “Eve’s Hollywood” (1974). On the other hand, Didion made a name for herself in journalism, often being recognized as one of the early proponents of ‘New Journalism.’

Apart from hanging out with Richie, Emma was also spotted socializing with Dustin Lance, who wore khaki trousers and a striped shirt in blues and whites.
Additionally, she displayed a bright smile alongside Jake Wesley Rodgers, who chose a sweater featuring black and white patterns and black pants.
Elizabeth Olsen sported both a chic black skirt and a white blouse, with a black top layered beneath it.
In the outfit she chose for WandaVision, the actress accessorized with a bold, dark green jacket and sported a stylish pair of chunky black boots.
The star had a middle parting in her dark hair that cascaded gracefully as soft waves beyond her shoulders.
Beverly D’Angelo was spotted wearing a black shirt that had the words ‘What the f*** is really going on?’ printed in white lettering on the front.
In the movie “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” the main actor donned a pair of black pants and a white jacket to complete his look.
D’Angelo deliberately chose to forgo wearing showy jewelry, so her attire would stand out as the central focus.
They were spotted together, standing alongside Emma Roberts and Elizabeth Olsen, when they happened to meet up during the evening hours.
Roberts and Beverly additionally took a break to snap more photos with each other while contributing to the festivities for the unveiling of Didion & Babitz.
Later on, the actress from Violent Night was seen alongside Barbara Steel. Steel looked elegant in a white blouse neatly tucked into a stylish, pleated black leather skirt.
Karah Preiss had a stylish, relaxed look with her white button-up only partially fastened at the collar.

Similar to numerous attendees, the Academy Award recipient could be spotted flipping through a folder, while others looked on from afar.
At the book launch, it was Mirandi Babitz, the younger sibling of the late Eve Babitz (who sadly passed away in 2021), who made an appearance too.
She flashed a cheerful smile wearing a long-sleeved, blue shirt as well as a pair of black pants and closed-toed, red shoes.
As the event concluded on Tuesday, famous guests paused to snap group pictures with each other.
At a certain moment, Emma Roberts, Beverly D’Angelo, Elizabeth Olsen, Lili Anolik, Nicole Richie, and Alexi Wasser struck a pose for the photographer.
