I’ve played a ton of card games, but honestly, nothing quite like this! I mean, where else can you have a showdown between the amazing Agatha Christie and… a Bengal tiger? It’s a totally unique idea and I’m already hooked!
Avid Games, the team behind the popular card game Cards, the Universe and Everything (CUE Cards), has just released their newest title, Wild Cards, for both Android and PC. It’s a fresh take on the card game genre, bringing a lot of exciting changes.
How Wild Cards is different
This is essentially a follow-up to CUE Cards, though it has some key differences.
First, the game is noticeably faster, letting you finish matches more quickly. This quicker pace makes it especially well-suited for playing on mobile devices.
The way matches work is straightforward. You create a deck of cards using a huge selection of options – everything from famous people and everyday objects to mythical creatures and even stars!
The possibilities are limitless, ranging from things like Jane Austen and a simple banana, to more unusual items like a Ouija board and even the pirate Blackbeard. You could add almost anything to this list!
The game packs quite the cast
The huge variety of cards isn’t just for show; each one has unique powers that you can mix and match to create different effects.
You start by choosing a hero, then build a 12-card deck to compete against other players in a match that lasts nine turns. To win, you’ll need to cleverly use your hero’s unique powers and set traps to trick your opponent.
Wild Cards is easy to learn, even if you’re new to card games. It has a simple, uncluttered design and fast-paced action, so you can jump right in without getting bogged down in complicated menus or lengthy tutorials. Although there are many characters to choose from, the game remains accessible to everyone.
Wild Cards is now available for free download on both Google Play and the App Store. While it offers in-app purchases, you can trade with other players to get content without having to pay for everything.
