‘The Black Parade’ marches on: My Chemical Romance announces 2025 revival tour
As a child of the early 2000s and a devotee of all things emo, the news that My Chemical Romance is embarking on a stadium tour for “The Black Parade” next summer has me absolutely giddy with excitement! I remember listening to this album in my bedroom, feeling like I was part of some secret society, and the thought of reliving those feelings at Dodger Stadium is pure nostalgic bliss. The lineup featuring Wallows, Death Cab for Cutie, Evanescence, 100 gecs, and IDLES only sweetens the deal. If you’re an emo kid at heart like me, this tour is not to be missed!
Hey, all you Angel-emos! My Chemical Romance is planning a grand tour next summer in honor of their iconic album “The Black Parade”. Let’s get ready to rock!
The “Long Live The Black Parade” concert tour is scheduled to visit ten U.S. cities from July to September 2025, with a stop at Dodger Stadium on July 26 also included. The confirmed opening acts for the tour are Wallows, a popular rock band based in Los Angeles, along with staples of emo music like Death Cab for Cutie and Evanescence, as well as contemporary groups such as 100 gecs and IDLES.
Seventeen years have passed since ‘The Black Parade’ was released into the MOAT, as the band shared in an Instagram tour announcement on Tuesday. During this period, a powerful ruler has emerged, ushering in ‘THE CONCRETE AGE,’ a time of remarkable stability and prosperity in DRAAG’s history.
The post continued: “His Grand Immortal Dictator wishes to celebrate our rich and storied culture, fine foods, and musical entertainments by welcoming you to these great demonstrations of power and resolve. And lending voice and song for the first time in six thousand two hundred and forty six days, their work privilege ceremoniously reinstated, will be His Grand Immortal Dictator’s National Band… The Black Parade.”
The announcement about the tour arrives following My Chemical Romance sharing a puzzling image across their social media platforms on Monday, with the caption “If you could be anything, what would you be?”. Many fans believed this hinted at the possible resurrection of their abandoned album “The Paper Kingdom”.
Fans of MCR could possibly interpret their October 20th full performance of “The Black Parade” at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas as a hint, as they plan to repeat this performance during their concerts scheduled for next summer.
Back in 2001, I found myself swept up in the emergence of an extraordinary band known as My Chemical Romance. Over the course of their 12-year journey, they dropped four studio albums, two of which soared past the million mark in sales. Fast forward a year after their disbandment in 2013, and they graced us with a compilation album titled “May Death Never Stop You,” a testament to their enduring legacy.
Back in 2019, MCR (My Chemical Romance) announced a tour comeback, initially scheduled for 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to 2022. In that same year, the band unveiled their first new song in eight years: “The Foundations of Decay.
2023 saw “The Black Parade” by Rolling Stone being listed among their top 500 Best Albums Ever Made. It also earned a Grammy nomination in the year 2008.
Tickets for the “Long Live The Black Parade” tour go on sale Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.
