As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia and a penchant for beat ’em ups, I must say the announcement of G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra has sent my childhood memories into overdrive! Having grown up watching the animated series and collecting action figures, this game is like a dream come true.
Indie-io publisher reveals that the side-scrolling brawler game, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra developed by Maple Powered Games, is set to release on consoles within the upcoming week, after its debut on PC in September.
In the game Wrath of Cobra, you can select from multiple characters hailing from the G.I. Joe team such as Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Gung-ho, and Roadblock, engaging in fierce battles against the villainous faction led by Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Destro, Zartan, and Baroness.
Spreading over land, sky, sea, and beyond, the game allows you to explore a variety of places, such as Cobra Island, the Pit, and Cobra’s hidden underwater facility. You can choose to play alone or collaborate with others in split-screen or online mode, up to a maximum of four players. Armed with weapons, executing combos, and utilizing special skills will be part of your gaming experience.
As you advance through the game, more characters and modes will become accessible to you, such as Boss Rush, 1 Hit, Double Trouble, and Item Shuffle. The game will continue to be updated after its release with free downloadable content (DLC), introducing Shipwreck, Lady Jaye, Timber as playable characters and additional features like Lightning Mode (faster enemies), Low Gravity, and Time Attack.
The action-packed game “G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra” is set to release on the 21st of November for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
