The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon stars tease apocalyptic Spain in season 3

As a dedicated fan who has been following the thrilling journey of Daryl Dixon since the early days of The Walking Dead, I am beyond excited for the upcoming season 3. The prospect of exploring new cultures and energies in Spain is not just intriguing but also promises a fresh perspective on this post-apocalyptic world we’ve come to know so well.

In the concluding episode of Season 2 from The Walking Dead, characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) departed France and found themselves in England, where they encountered a fresh survivor portrayed by renowned British comedian Stephen Merchant. However, their journey doesn’t end there; the majority of Season 3 unfolds in sunny Spain. This change in location also brings along a new team of crew members, providing viewers with an unprecedented viewpoint on the zombie apocalypse.

Production for the third season of Daryl Dixon is underway right now. The upcoming season is set to air in 2025, but details about what lies ahead for Daryl and Carol in Spain remain unknown. The production team has been keeping mum, as one would expect. When we questioned director Daniel Percival about the Spanish storyline, he advised us to “stay tuned,” which is a reasonable and expected response.

However, it’s worth mentioning that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride provided some additional insights during their conversation with Collider. In response to questions about the new environment, Reedus hinted that the fresh locale presents an entirely unique culture and vibe.

“Everything is different [in Spain]. There are different artists making the show here. We have a different cast. Everything looks different and feels different, and it’s a different story. It’s new energy. You take these two characters traveling around Europe, and all of Europe is not the same, just like the United States isn’t. New Yorkers are way different from people in California and everyone in between. It’s the same here [in Spain]. It’s new energy.”

In addition, Melissa McBride concurred, noting that the setting serves as a character on its own. She explained, “The location can be seen as a character in itself, offering plenty of opportunities for visual and narrative exploration.

Apart from knowing that the storyline will initially unfold in England and later shift to Spain, we don’t have many details yet about the season’s plot. Fans are already brainstorming potential developments. For example, in Robert Kirkman’s original Walking Dead comics, there’s a short tale called “The Alien,” penned by Brian K. Vaughan, which focuses on Rick Grimes’ brother Jeffrey and his survival in Spain. Could they incorporate Jeffrey into the show? This idea seems somewhat improbable as Rick hasn’t mentioned having a brother in the TV narrative, but it does spark some intriguing speculation!

As a passionate cinephile, I can’t wait to catch a glimpse of the new teaser for “Daryl Dixon” season 3! This sneak peek promises an exciting journey as we find ourselves among our beloved characters, now in England and Spain. Can’t wait to see what adventures await them on foreign soil!

Stream the entire season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” titled “The Book of Carol,” on AMC now. Season 3 is just around the corner. Following this, in the “Walking Dead Universe” we have “Dead City” season 2, where Maggie and Negan’s Manhattan adventures continue. Expect it in spring 2025!
