The Block judge Darren Palmer unveils his latest $5.6 million renovation project in Queensland
As a die-hard fan of all things design and renovation, I can hardly contain my excitement as Darren Palmer unveils his latest masterpiece! This man is nothing short of a genius when it comes to transforming spaces into breathtaking, functional works of art. His latest project for Queensland charity yourtown’s prize home raffle is no exception – it’s a $5.6 million farmhouse-style abode located in the picturesque Tallebudgera Valley that will make even the most hardened cynic swoon!
Hot on the heels of the finale of The Block, judge Darren Palmer has unveiled his latest project.
Darren, who often offers feedback along with Marty Fox and Shayna Blaze on contestant’s work, has been keeping himself occupied by collaborating with the Queensland-based charity, yourtown, to design the interior of an exquisite prize home worth approximately $5.6 million.
The beautiful residence, situated in the scenic Tallebudgera Valley of Queensland, serves as the top prize in the charity’s Christmas Raffle for 2024.
As a devoted supporter, I’ve been sharing my design skills with this charitable organization for over a decade now, styling their incredible prize homes along the way, as I shared in an interview with The Courier Mail.
He shared with the news outlet that we managed to raise a substantial amount for the charity, which in turn gives me a sense of satisfaction.
Each year, we’ve made sure to introduce a fresh, exciting experience, and every time, I find myself believing that the one from that particular year was the most remarkable.
He mentioned that it was his responsibility to make the house look like a place where the ultimate contestant could immediately settle in.
He mentioned that every item of furniture, artwork, cushion, decoration, and anything else someone might require was placed in the house by him.
‘You could literally rock up with your jammies, and your clothes, and that’s all you need.’
Spanning nearly four acres, this beautiful farmhouse-like dwelling offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms for your comfort.
This spacious home, crafted by architect Jayson Pate, features an expansive kitchen, living, and dining area under soaring 5.3-meter tall cathedral ceilings.
The gourmet kitchen is complete with a butler’s pantry and Elysian white stone benches.
Not only is there an abundance of things to do on the premises for potential buyers, but the property itself features a round, heated swimming pool, sauna, cold tub, and spa as well.
It’s equally enjoyable for entertainers, featuring a spacious open-air section boasting an outdoor kitchen and a cozy wood fireplace, all offering breathtaking views.
Apart from the enticing prospect of winning the raffle scheduled for December 20, you’ll find numerous attractive prizes up for grabs. These include a massive $100,000 in gold bullion and an impressive collection of furniture and electrical items totalling $226,195 in value.
As an over-the-moon fan, I’ve got some thrilling news! Not only can you get your hands on a nifty ride-on mower, but there are more perks coming your way! You’ll enjoy a whole year of council rates and water bills being taken care of, and that’s not all! To top it off, you’ll also be covered with 12 months of home and contents insurance. Now isn’t that something to get excited about?
Back in August, I demonstrated the way to do it when I put up my beautifully renovated $2.98 million abode at Bondi Beach on the market for sale, as a committed follower.
Back in the mid-2010s, when Darren bought the house, it was a two-story building even before its current owner embarked on further renovation projects.
Darren teamed up with architect John Deuchrass and building firm Taste Living to fully renovate the house following his purchase.
Darren shared with Domain that the rather run-down house holds much potential for improvement. For many years, he’s fantasized about its possible transformation once all the renovations are completed.
Over the weekend, Maddy and Charlotte Harry clinched the title of The Block’s youngest-ever auction winners. They pocketed a staggering $1.65 million in profits during the tense finale on Sunday evening.
In the 2024 series, the newcomers, the two sisters, managed to secure the highest bid of the day. Their refurbished property at Phillip Island fetched a price of $3.5 million.
Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom house, which had been set with a reserve price of $1.85 million.
The billionaire Block regular also purchased the other four properties on the night, spending a total of $15.03million.
‘We are just so grateful, and it’s a very surreal feeling,’ said Maddy of their win.
‘You can’t anticipate how something like The Block will end, but it is the perfect ending for us.
