Peaky Blinders star confirmed to join star-studded cast of exciting new thriller from Homeland boss

Daryl McCormack, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, is joining the cast of a new thriller coming to Apple TV+. The show is being produced by Alex Cary, who also worked on Homeland, but it doesn’t have a name yet.

The story centers around a Treasury agent, played by Dakota Fanning, who is working undercover within a massive company worth billions of dollars. This company has strong connections to both politics and the criminal underworld.

She faces a difficult dilemma: her assignment clashes with her feelings for Kar (McCormack), the young man she’s been tasked with targeting. She believes he’s a good person and has fallen in love with him.

Deadline was the first to announce that McCormack has been cast. He will appear in the film alongside Stellan Skarsgård, known for his role in Sentimental Value, who plays the character Brandt.

Debra Fanning is an executive producer on the show, along with her sister Elle (who previously acted with Alexander Skarsgård in Sentimental Value). Cary, director Kari Skogland, Julie Gardner, Brittany Kahan Ward, and Amy Kaufman are also executive producers.

What to Read Next

McCormack first gained recognition for his role as Isaiah Jesus in the BBC series Peaky Blinders. Since then, he’s been in several TV shows including The Wheel of Time, Bad Sisters, and The Woman in the Wall. He’s also set to play Mr. Bingley in the upcoming Pride and Prejudice adaptation on Netflix.

He’s also appeared in films like Good Luck to You, Leo Grande with Emma Thompson, and last year he was in the newest Knives Out movie, Wake Up Dead Man.

The actor recently narrated an Audible audiobook of Wuthering Heights, playing the character of Heathcliff.

Discussing her take on the famous and troubled romantic character, McCormack shared that Heathcliff is a remarkably complex and fascinating figure, making the role a truly captivating challenge.

This story explores what happened during his lost years, focusing on his path to understanding himself and finding inner peace. I believe this will help audiences sympathize with him, even though he’s not perfect. He’s a classic anti-hero, and you might find yourself feeling deeply for him – our version of ‘Heathcliff’ is truly heartbreaking.
