Creep is back alongside 5 new scary movies this week, Nov. 11
As a seasoned horror enthusiast who’s seen more than my fair share of spine-tingling tales, I’m always on the lookout for fresh chills and thrills to keep my heart racing. November may be a quieter month for horror releases, but fear not! There are still some intriguing titles making their way onto our screens, and I can’t wait to dive in.
As a devoted horror enthusiast, I must confess that November can feel somewhat subdued compared to the thrilling October we’ve just left behind. Yet, the excitement doesn’t fade entirely, for there are still some chilling surprises in store! One such anticipation is the upcoming installment of the Creep series, a franchise that continues to send shivers down my spine.
In addition to Melissa Barrera’s latest film, “Your Monster,” appearing on demand, numerous other indie horror films are set to debut in this manner. One of the week’s most eagerly awaited releases is a found-footage movie starring Jenni “JWOWW” Farley from “Jersey Shore.
The Creep Tapes (Shudder, Nov. 15)
In a change from the previous movie installments, the third addition to the Creep series by Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice will be a television series airing on Shudder and AMC+ instead. However, the fundamental plotline stays consistent. The new series, titled The Creep Tapes, presents six fresh cases of the elusive serial killer “Peachfuzz” (Duplass), as seen through found footage, each victim being different from those in the films.
Your Monster (VOD, Nov. 12)
Title character Melissa Barrera stars in this delightful romantic comedy where a heartbroken actress faces a double whammy of a breakup and distressing news. Things become even more bizarre when she stumbles upon a fearsome yet lovable creature hidden in her wardrobe. If you missed catching Your Monster on the big screen, you can now rent or buy it on VOD from Tuesday, November 12.
Devon (Screambox, Nov. 12)
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Jenni “JWOWW” Farley from the hit show “Jersey Shore” is stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with a spine-chilling found-footage horror movie. This chilling tale is set to stream on Screambox. For years, I’ve been vocal about my love for horror films, and this project has me absolutely ecstatic! The story follows desperate parents on a harrowing journey to find their missing daughter, who vanished from an asylum under mysterious circumstances – and I can hardly wait to see it unfold!
Do Not Open (VOD, Nov. 12)
Fangoria characterizes Brian Babarik’s thriller movie “Do Not Open” as a film that delves into the underlying anxieties of our current technology-dominated society. Available for streaming this week under The Horror Collective banner, “Do Not Open” tells the chilling story of a family overly dependent on technology, who realize the terrifying consequences when an app they download takes a dark and malevolent turn.
Piper (VOD, Nov. 12)
In this week’s dark fantasy horror movie starring Elizabeth Hurley, a once-whimsical children’s story takes a sinister turn. Hurley portrays Liz, a mother who relocates with her daughter Amy to a German village. There, they cross paths with the enigmatic “Piper,” a figure from an ancient local legend. The Piper is said to mete out punishment on children for their parents’ transgressions. As Liz’s past misdeeds are exposed, it places Amy in peril.
Daft State (VOD, Nov. 12)
A suspenseful psychological drama revolves around a man named Easton, portrayed by Christopher Backus, as he grapples with his mental stability and is lured by sinister influences to harm those closest to him – notably his wife and daughter. The movie additionally features Skye P. Marshall, known for her role in “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” and Jake T. Austin, famed from “The Wizards of Waverly Place.
