Declan Donnelly and wife Ali Astall struggle with Aussie jet lag as they head out for lunch with their nanny after moving into £1k-per-night penthouse for I’m A Celebrity

As a die-hard fan of Ant and Dec, I can’t help but admire their dedication to their work. It’s not just about the glitz and glamour; it’s about the countless hours of preparation, the early mornings, and the grueling schedule that makes I’m a Celebrity… well, a real jungle challenge!

It’s not as glamorous as it seems presenting I’m a Celebrity.

At 2 am, they rise for work and put in lengthy hours on set, making their roles as ITV hosts a demanding and exhausting experience for Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall, along with their kids Isla (age 6) and Jack (age 2), as well as their long-term nanny, have traveled to Brisbane a week early for a vacation before the 24th series begins.

For two decades, this 49-year-old individual has hosted the premier ITV program. Remaining in a luxurious £1,000 per night penthouse, they have earned a reputation as a distinguished figure among the local community.

Yesterday around noon, a family of four who were still battling with jet lag made their way to their usual hangout, The Socials, which is right across from their apartment. They spent the morning there, having a peaceful breakfast while being observed by five security personnel.

Ali, a dec and talent manager who has been married since 2015, opted for the identical £13 breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, avocado, and bacon, whereas their kids enjoyed waffles with Nutella instead.

Back in 2019, I jumped out of a plane with my beloved employers cheering me on, marking the start of our unforgettable journey together. Now, it’s an incredible privilege to have this trusted companion by my side once more on this trip of a lifetime.

As a lifestyle expert, I noticed that they seemed slightly bewildered and spoke sparingly, primarily addressing their security personnel who were vigilantly observing the surroundings at all times.

At some point, Dec conversed with a server regarding their ongoing battle against jet lag, before adding a jest that they were grateful they hadn’t actually walked the distance of the journey instead.

‘Both were really pleasant and more chatty to the staff than to each other.’

To rest after an 11-hour time difference and escape from the midday heat of 26 degrees, the family sought refuge in their high-end apartments that feature three pools – one cold, one warm, and a kids’ pool. These apartments are also situated near a golf course where Dec enjoys playing golf with his co-star Ant McPartlin on screen.

Every year on his birthday, Ant (aged 48) typically joins in the festivities while the show is ongoing. Dec, on the other hand, prefers to bond with his family on the beach during that period, as their apartment offers a scenic view of the shore.

One local told TopMob: ‘They’re pretty understated people, low-key.

From the larger crowd they’re with, they stand out a bit, yet they aren’t particularly famous – perhaps that anonymity is quite pleasant.

‘Though they tend to be private individuals, they have certain social circles where they shine brightly. When they arrive at these places, they become the center of attention; others are eager to engage with them and ensure they feel at ease.’

Previously, Ant performed alone because his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, became pregnant last year, resulting in the birth of their first child, a son named Wilder. This year, it’s expected that Wilder will make an appearance as well.
