David Derrick Jr., who previously worked as a story artist on “Moana” (2016), “The Lion King” (2019), “Raya and the Last Dragon” (2021), “Encanto” (2021), and “Strange World” (2022), is set to direct his first feature film with this movie.
On November 27, 2024, Moana 2 is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide across the U.S. Historically, Thanksgiving weekends have been a lucrative period for Disney, so it remains to be seen if Moana 2 can rekindle that box office enchantment.
