Bhad Bhabie reveals cancer battle, tells trolls to stop ‘worst narratives’ around her weight
As a supporter of individuals who bravely face adversity, I am deeply moved by Danielle Bregoli’s courageous battle against cancer. Her strength and resilience are truly inspiring, especially considering her young age.
Teenage rap sensation Danielle Bregoli, also known as Bhad Bhabie, has disclosed that she is fighting cancer in an attempt to counteract harmful rumors concerning her physical appearance.
21-year-old musician Danielle Bregoli, also known as the “Gucci Flip Flops” performer, responded to critics on social media yesterday. In an Instagram post, she explained that her weight loss was due to cancer treatment, saying, “I apologize for any concerns, but I’m gradually regaining my weight.
As a follower of Bregoli, known for her viral 2016 appearance on “Dr. Phil,” I’ve noticed her recent call to action to avoid perpetuating the most damaging narratives. Lately, there have been various Instagram users expressing worry about Bregoli’s physical appearance. Some have made light of her eating habits, while others have speculated about potential use of weight-loss medication as a rapper.
ever since comments arose in early October, Bregoli has posted numerous images of herself wearing form-fitting outfits, yet she didn’t respond to fans’ worries until this week. Only today, following Bregoli’s narrative disclosure, a relative confirmed on TMZ that the rapper is indeed fighting cancer. The family member reported that Bregoli is undergoing treatment from a doctor, though no further details were provided.
On Friday, Perez Hilton was criticized by Bhad Bhabie’s mother, Barbara Bregoli, following his sharing of news about the musician’s health announcement. In a video posted early Thursday, Hilton suggested that Bhad Bhabie might have faked her diagnosis, comparing her to Lil Tay, a young rapper who was at the center of a death hoax last year.
Hilton expressed uncertainty about whether the person is lying, but also pointed out that given certain individuals’ behavior, it wouldn’t surprise him if they were seeking attention by doing something like this. He further mentioned that he hopes it’s true because it would be unfortunate if she had or still has cancer at a young age.
In my own words, I’d put it like this: “I took to Instagram to express my feelings: ‘May your kids never have to face the hardship of cancer, as I’ve experienced it twice. It’s unforgivable for someone to question my daughter’s authenticity when she’s dealing with this.’
Following her daughter’s announcement, Barbara Bregoli reflected on her personal battle with cancer medication. “This is what I looked like a year after my first cancer diagnosis,” she wrote alongside a 2008 photo showing her slim figure in a white skirt and black sleeveless top, as a way to counter comments about cancer and its associated weight gain.
Echoing her daughter’s sentiments, Barbara Bregoli urged people to “stop with your assumptions!!!”
