First look at Jack Whitehall and Jennifer Saunders in UK-set comedy
As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for both digital and cinematic worlds, I must say that the upcoming releases of “Night & Day” and “Malice” have certainly piqued my interest.
Jack Whitehall and Jennifer Saunders star in a first look at new UK-set comedy Night & Day.
As a gamer diving into this new movie adaption, I’m excited to explore the world of an unconventional heroine – an ardent astronomer who navigates through life in a time when even the sky seemed closed off by towering concrete barriers. This “unromantic comedy” promises to be anything but ordinary!
Initially, the movie’s scene is set with Whitehall and Saunders donned in clothing typical of the 20th century, joined by their fellow actors Haley Bennett and Timothy Spall.
In the play “Night & Day”, the character Katharine Hilbery, played by Bennett, defies the traditional Victorian society through her courageous actions. This rebellion takes place amidst the suffragette movement and rapid technological progress in the early 20th century, providing an engaging historical context.
The ensemble also features Sally Phillips known for “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, Misia Butler from “Kaos”, Alex Macqueen, Simon Phillips, Frances Barber, Elyas M’Barek, as well as the renowned British singer Lily Allen.
Justine Waddell is adapting Virginia Woolf’s novel for the big screen, with Tina Gharavi at the helm as director. Filming is happening now in Newcastle.
In the coming year, you can catch Whitehall in the psychological drama “Malice,” available on Prime Video.
In the series, the actor known for his role in “The Bad Education” takes on the character of Adam Healey, an alluring male nanny with a mission to insinuate himself into the affluent Tanner family, ultimately intending to bring about their downfall.
In London and Greece, the drama unfolds in the story titled “Malice“. It’s a tale brimming with hidden family truths, power plays, and deceit. The narrative poses an intriguing query: What is Adam’s intense dislike for Jamie Tanner all about?
David Duchovny from “The X Files” takes on the role of Jamie Tanner, the head of the Tanner family, while Carice van Houten, known for “Game of Thrones,” portrays his wife Nat. In addition, Harry Gilby, Teddie-Rose Malleson-Allen, and Phoenix Laroche play their three offspring in this production.
Night & Day does not yet have a release date. Malice arrives on Prime Video next year.
