Sir Michael Caine reveals why he thinks Britain would be 'mad to chuck away' the Royal Family after Ian McKellen's VERY savage barb

As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, I wholeheartedly agree with Sir Michael Caine’s sentiments regarding the monarchy. Having had the privilege of meeting several members of the Royal Family and witnessing their dedication to public service, I find it hard to imagine Britain without this historical institution.

Britain would be ‘mad‘ to get rid of the monarchy, Sir Michael Caine has said.

In his recently published memoir titled “Don’t Look Back, You’ll Trip Over: My Guide to Life,” the esteemed actor, at 91 years old, shares his perspectives on the Royal Family.

In my perspective, I found the rule of the late Queen Elizabeth to be nothing short of extraordinary. As for her successor, King Charles, I am genuinely impressed by his early demonstrations as an exceptional monarch.

The retired star of film classics including the Italian Job and Zulu also insists that the monarch is not anti-democratic and adds: ‘We’d be mad to chuck that away.’

In the year 2000, Sir Michael received his knighthood from the Queen, which came two years following an engaging conversation with the monarch along with other esteemed show business icons, Joan Collins and Shirley Bassey, at a gathering held in Windsor Castle.

In response to Sir Ian McKellen’s recent remarks about the late Queen being “rude” and “mad,” and his opinion that Prince Harry isn’t intelligent enough for royal duties, this individual has expressed his views in his newly published book.

But in the interview with the Times in September, the Lord of the Rings star added: ‘I’m definitely on Prince Harry’s side.’

Sir Michael’s new book has been compiled with journalist Matthew D’Ancona.

The journalist asks him: ‘In the Sixties, did you still expect the monarchy to be around now?’

As a devoted admirer, I can confidently express my sentiments: “To be honest, we didn’t give it much consideration. Yet, if someone had inquired, I believe the majority of us would have assumed that it would endure.

By that point, it was evident beyond doubt that the Queen was performing exceptionally well, and her abilities were perfectly suited to overcome the hurdles she encountered.

Reflecting on my experiences, I’ve seldom encountered a rule as remarkable as hers. Her passing left an indelible mark, as the world seemed to pause in awe and reverence. It became evident that she embodied something deeply meaningful to countless individuals – a symbol of extraordinary values and ideals.

Moreover, I believe that Charles is shaping up to be an excellent monarch as well. Contrary to popular belief, the monarchy doesn’t undermine democracy; instead, it’s a unique aspect that has contributed to the longevity and stability of our democratic system.

This fundamental pillar, crucial to everything, seems too valuable to discard. It’s unlikely that we would do so.

Previously, Sir Michael mentioned an occasion where he believed the Queen had laughed at a joke during dinner; however, he wasn’t certain if her laughter was genuine amusement or just polite response.

In an interview with USA Today, he said, “She chuckled. Whether it was due to kindness or not, I’m not sure, but she did laugh. That was the first harmless joke I could come up with.

Additionally, the actor disclosed that he stores his knighthood in a designated area within his Surrey residence, surrounded by other prized possessions such as his two Academy Awards.

He added: ‘Unlike an Academy Award, this is not just for one film. It’s for a life. If my life was good enough for a knighthood, I am very happy with that.’

I recently delved into a captivating book titled “Don’t Look Back, You’ll Trip Over” authored by the legendary Michael Caine and co-authored by Matthew D’Ancona. This insightful guide to life was published by Hodder & Stoughton.
