Daniel Craig doesn’t care who replaces him as James Bond

As a long-time Bond fan who has witnessed the evolutions of the iconic character, I must say that Daniel Craig’s nonchalant response to the succession question is both refreshing and amusing. After all, he’s fought SPECTRE agents, survived being buried alive, and even conquered a fear of water – so it’s understandable if choosing his Bond successor seems like a walk in the park compared to those feats!

Daniel Craig has admitted he doesn’t “care” about who succeeds him as James Bond.

3 years have passed since the actor played James Bond for the last time in the movie “No Time to Die.” However, it’s still unclear who will take over the role from him.

In conversation with Variety for the promotion of his latest film “Queer”, Craig was inquired about potential successors for the role of James Bond, and he expressed his preference if he could choose someone to take on the role.

The star replied: “I don’t care.”

It was recently hinted by a studio executive that fans might need to wait longer to find out who will take on the role of Bond, as Craig himself has not yet made any endorsements for his successor.

According to Jennifer Salke, the global head of Amazon MGM Studios, numerous compelling ideas [regarding possible performers] have emerged that I find intriguing. I believe there are multiple paths we could explore in this regard.

Our bond with Eon, along with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, is strong and intimate. We don’t aim to alter the exceptional production methods they employ. Instead, we choose to follow their guidance as we proceed.

To the worldwide viewers, we aim for a reasonable gap between our upcoming movies, yet there’s no immediate need for us to rush the production process right now.

Initially this year, whispers about Aaron Taylor-Johnson potentially taking over from Craig circulated widely. However, according to a source within the production team, these rumors were unfounded.

Later on, Taylor-Johnson found themselves tactfully sidestepping a query regarding the rumors during a chat on the red carpet.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that all 25 James Bond films have been made accessible on Amazon Prime Video for subscribers. However, please note that some ‘unofficial’ productions like the 1967 film Casino Royale and the 1983 movie Never Say Never Again are not included in this release.
