Radio star Lauren Phillips goes very ladylike in a demure blue dress for Oaks Day after partying with Carrie Bickmore in a low-cut dress during Derby
As a dedicated follower of fashion and the Melbourne Cup Carnival, I must say that Lauren Phillips‘ Ladies Day look was nothing short of elegant and chic. After witnessing her daring and vibrant ensembles at previous events, it was refreshing to see her embrace the feminine and elegant dress code for Oaks Day.
On a sunny Thursday, fashion-conscious radio personality Lauren Phillips graced the Flemington Racecourse during Crown Oaks Day, flouting traditional style guidelines with her chic ensemble.
The Nova FM breakfast presenter, 37, has been experimenting with her style lately and leaning into sexy and preppy dresses that are either cut low across her chest or graze her thighs.
On “Ladies Day” at the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Lauren opted for a more conservative look with a voluminous-sleeved, floor-length linen gown that accentuated her waistline.
The Oaks Day dress code is feminine and elegant, with a focus on spring-time styles and shapes.
As a devoted adherent to style guidelines, I prefer softer hues, like the delicate pastels, light pinks, and heavenly shades of sky blue, reminiscent of what Lauren wore, for my color choices.
Apart from the standard options, you might as well opt for vibrant designs featuring blooming flowers in bold fonts, a suggestion made by Australian fashion designer Sacha Drake. Additionally, she highlighted that lightweight materials such as silk and chiffon are currently in vogue.
Lauren adorned her heart-shaped neckline with a dainty diamond necklace and silver accessories, perfectly matching her light blue dress.
She completed her appearance with a set of nude, strappy sandals, and a touch of pale pink nail color on her toes as well.

Instead of her usual vibrant and bold styles that she’s showcased during the Melbourne Cup and on her racing-themed Stellar cover, Lauren’s Ladies Day outfit seemed more subdued, yet it still managed to meet the requirements.
In the sunlit afternoon, Lauren joined her fellow radio hosts Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Clint Stanaway at the track, and they all took a modest photo together as colleagues.
Jase donned a dark navy suit and white shirt, accessorizing with a discreetly patterned pocket square to echo the day’s motif. On the other hand, Clint opted for a lavender linen suit, complete with a vibrant floral tie and delicate pastel pink boutonniere.
On her respective Oak Day and Derby Day appearances, radio host Lauren presented two distinct styles. She shared on Instagram that she sought advice from a stylist friend to pull off the more sophisticated look for Derby Day.
She was incredibly fortunate that her friend, who is not only one of the best friends she has but also one of the top stylists in the world, managed to put this look together (even at the last moment when she was in a real state of distress), as she described in the caption for some stunning photos taken before the festivities began.
On Saturday, it appeared that Melbourne radio friends Lauren and Carrie Bickmore were thoroughly enjoying themselves during the Derby Day event.

The radio personalities, oozing charm and elegance, shared a hearty chuckle before entering the elite gathering hand-in-hand.
At one point, the pair were seen making a cheeky video and flipped the bird to their camera phone.
43-year-old Carrie, the presenter on Fox FM, opted for going without a bra and accentuated her physique in a tightly fitted, all-white maxi dress.
Her striking attire featured a revealing neckline that showcased a suggestive glimpse of her cleavage area.
She accessorised with a black fascinator which matched her pumps and designer clutch.
Simultaneously, Lauren elegantly matched Carrie’s white ensemble with a captivating, jet-black, plunge dress that accentuated her appealing figure gracefully.
Lauren’s jaw-dropping gown featured a thigh-high split which also showed off her long slender legs.
