Amanda Bynes steps out after sharing with fans that she’s 6lbs down amid weight loss journey
As I delve deeper into the poignant journey of Amanda Bynes, it is impossible not to be moved by her struggle with self-image and addiction. Her story serves as a stark reminder that the entertainment industry can often be a treacherous landscape, where external validation can become an all-consuming obsession.
On Tuesday, Amanda Bynes was seen publicly for the first time following her recent disclosure about her weight loss process, in an excursion around Los Angeles.
Actress from She’s The Man, aged 38, dealing with depression and weighing 20 pounds more, opted for a relaxed look while grabbing a coffee at Starbucks during her shopping trip.
The former Nickelodeon star donned a white, hooded sweatshirt as well as a black shirt underneath.
Apart from that, she also put on a pair of black leather pants along with black and white Converse sneakers to complement her all-black ensemble.
Bynes showcased her fresh, stunning hairstyle by gathering some of her hair in an elegant half-up style, with the rest cascading freely over her shoulders.
Amanda effortlessly slung a compact, black bag across her left shoulder, carrying essentials for her outing throughout the day.
As an ardent enthusiast, I chose to keep my style understated yet impactful. Instead of cluttering myself with numerous accessories, I decided to sport a subtle silver nose ring that adds a touch of edginess. To make a bold statement, I also adorned my left wrist with a flashy bracelet.
As she enjoyed an outdoor walk during the crisp autumn air, Bynes added a stylish black sunglasses as the final accessory to her outfit.
Following a quick visit to Starbucks, she stepped out of the coffee shop, clutching an icy beverage, en route to her next spot.
The star recently made a public appearance, following her sharing updates with her fans about her weight loss story on Tuesday as well.
In her Instagram stories, she shared a snapshot from a fitness app and wrote, “Lost 6 pounds! Now weigh 154 pounds!” accompanied by an expression of surprise emoji.
The picture also showed that on Tuesday, she had walked a little over six miles and 14,895 steps.
In the early part of this year, I shared with my social media community an aspect of my personal journey – I’ve added more than 20 pounds to my frame over recent months due to a period of deep emotional distress.
I’ve significantly improved and have found that engaging in the opposite behavior helps me, such as exercising even when I don’t feel like it or sticking with healthy eating choices instead of giving in to cravings.
The Easy A actress continued, ‘I weigh 162 lbs. right now and want to get back to 110 lbs.’
In an interview with Paper Magazine back in 2018, Amanda Bynes opened up about her struggles with body image, a concern that she claimed originated following her role in the 2006 film “She’s The Man.
After watching the movie, I felt deeply saddened and struggled with depression for about four to six months, as I wasn’t satisfied with my appearance during my childhood years.
She shared that sporting a short haircut and sideburns gave her an incredibly unusual and otherworldly feeling. It definitely threw her off and left her in a gloomy mood.
Eventually, her feelings of self-doubt culminated in a struggle with substance abuse – specifically Adderall, which she began using as a means to manage her weight, according to Amanda’s account to the media source.
She confessed, “I indeed misused Adderall, following my reading of an article suggesting it as the ‘new weight loss pill’ in a magazine.
‘And they were talking about how women were taking it to stay thin. I was like, “Well, I have to get my hands on that.”‘
In addition, Bynes opened up about working on the 2010 production, Hall Pass, a role she eventually left.
I vividly recall noticing my likeness on the monitor, feeling momentarily disoriented, as if my arm appeared excessively large due to its proximity. I recall quickly leaving the set, with a thought crossing my mind: “Oh my goodness, I look terrible.
In the heat of production, I found myself popping Adderall pills on set. I later announced my departure from the project, attributing it to a confusing blend of feeling excessively drugged to the point where I could no longer recall my lines and an unpleasant self-image issue.
Apart from reminiscing about her collaboration with Emma Stone in the film Easy A, Amanda openly admitted, ‘I honestly hated how I looked in that movie and felt dissatisfied with my performance. I genuinely believed I should quit acting altogether upon watching it.’
‘I was high on marijuana when I saw that but for some reason it really started to affect me.’
‘I don’t know if it was a drug-induced psychosis or what, but it affected my brain in a different way than it affects other people. It absolutely changed my perception of thing.’
Following his retirement from acting, the celebrity was arrested several times for recklessly speeding, illegal drug possession, and driving under the influence (DUI).
2013 saw her being admitted to a hospital due to a mandatory psychiatric confinement. Later, this extended to a nine-year conservatorship that concluded in the year 2022.
In the year 2023, she was temporarily detained under a 5150 hold and subsequently sought treatment at a psychiatric hospital of her own accord.
