Long-lost One Piece-Dragon Ball Z crossover episode now available to stream

As a veteran anime enthusiast who’s spent countless hours hunched over my TV screen, I must say that “History’s Strongest Collaboration vs. Glutton of the Sea” is a testament to the power of friendship and the magic of crossovers. The episode, which brings together three iconic characters from different anime universes, is a delightful rollercoaster ride of action, humor, and food porn (thanks, Toriko!).

In an unusual event, iconic figures from two popular anime shows joined forces in 2013 for a special crossover episode. This remarkable team-up occurred in the 590th installment of One Piece, named “History’s Strongest Collaboration vs. Glutton of the Sea.” In this unique episode, Monkey D. Luffy, the aspiring pirate king from One Piece, joined forces with Goku, another renowned anime protagonist, from Dragon Ball. Additionally present was Toriko, the lead character from a relatively short-lived manga and anime series about seeking exotic foods worldwide. Although he didn’t achieve the legendary status of Monkey and Goku, it’s still impressive to have two out of three anime icons collaborate.

Episode 590 of One Piece, starring Luffy, Goku, and Toriko, is now streaming on Netflix in North America and Latin America! This long-awaited episode, which originally focused on a tournament for a unique type of meat but morphed into a quest to capture a monstrous fish, is finally here with English, Spanish, and Portuguese dubs. Don’t miss out on the action! (Shared by Toei Animation on Instagram)

Anime series such as “One Piece” and “Dragon Ball” are known for their long-running nature. I’ve previously noted that the episode I’m referring to is the 590th in “One Piece”; this series began back in 1999 and continues to air today, though it’s currently on an extended break until April 2025, as reported by “Games Radar”. To date, over a thousand episodes of “One Piece” have been produced. In contrast, there have been six different “Dragon Ball” TV series since 1986; the latest one, “Dragon Ball DAIMA”, is currently airing at this very moment.

Over such an extensive run of television shows, it’s inevitable that a few might slip through the cracks. However, “History’s Strongest Collaboration vs. Glutton of the Sea”, which was broadcast on Toonami last year, can now be streamed at any time by fans. This ensures its continuity!

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, let me share some insights about the captivating series “One Piece”. If you’re keen on diving deeper into this world, I must emphasize that it boasts an impressive collection of over one thousand episodes! So, if your schedule allows, jump right in. Who knows, we might be discussing it again in 2030!
