First look at Jack Black’s new Christmas movie

As a long-time fan of the Farrelly Brothers’ quirky and hilarious filmography, I am absolutely thrilled to hear about their latest Christmas offering, “Dear Santa.” With a cast led by the brilliant Jack Black, this movie promises to be a delightful blend of holiday cheer and offbeat humor that is right up my alley.

A first-look at Jack Black’s new Christmas movie Dear Santa has been unveiled.

In the forthcoming comedy on Paramount+, there’s a story about a child who persists in thinking Santa is genuine. Eager to convince his peers of this truth, he penned a letter addressed to Old Saint Nick. Unfortunately, a misspelling inadvertently invoked Satan (Black) instead.

Prior to the debut of the complete trailer on November 7, a brief sneak peek featuring the actor portraying his character from Jumanji has been revealed.

The scene gradually ascends to reveal a figure who seems like Santa Claus, but soon enough, Black’s face emerges along with horns that suggest he is a devil.

“What? You were expecting someone else?” he declares, adding: “Ho, ho, freakin’ ho.”

Speaking about the upcoming festive comedy, Bobby Farrelly from the Farrelly Brothers mentioned that it resembles their earlier comedies like “Dumb and Dumber” and “There’s Something About Mary”.

As a gamer putting my spin on things, let me share that this tale is like a holiday family tradition for us. However, being the Farrelly brothers, Pete and I felt compelled to add our unique twist to a Christmas narrative. Yet, we didn’t want to distort it beyond recognition; instead, we aimed to maintain its essence while infusing our signature style.

We aimed for a touch of sweetness amidst its rough exterior, making it a fitting holiday film from the Farrelly Brothers.

In continuation about choosing Jack for the role, he pointed out: “Jack has this charming quality – with his arched eyebrows and expressive facial expressions – that always hints at a touch of mischief. Yet, he remains utterly endearing, and that’s simply who Jack is.

In our approach, we aimed to create a humorous rather than horrifying movie experience. Balancing comedy while portraying such an iconic character was a careful act. Fortunately, Jack turned out to be the ideal actor for the job.

The movie “Dear Santa” is set to debut on Paramount+ in the United States on November 25th. A release date for the UK has not been announced as of now.
