Madonna votes with daughter Lourdes, 28, as she keeps low profile in overcoat and dark glasses

As a dedicated follower of pop culture and a fan of Madonna for as long as I can remember, it was heartwarming to see her hit the polls with her daughter Lourdes. The iconic singer has been championing the importance of voting since the 90’s, and seeing her continue to do so today, especially during such a high-stakes election, is inspiring.

Madonna made a fashionable visit to the voting booths alongside her beautiful daughter, Lourdes, as many celebrities expressed their opinions on the significant faceoff between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump in the presidential election.

66-year-old pop culture legend, Madonna (known for her “Like a Virgin” hit), who initially advocated for Rock the Vote in 1990, posted a touching Instagram photo of herself strolling with her 28-year-old fashion model daughter on a walk together.

Casually clad in a dark coat, a baseball hat, and sunglasses, the renowned pop icon affectionately looked upon Lourdes – his daughter he shares with former partner Carlos Leon.

Meanwhile, Lourdes bore a striking resemblance to her famous mother, dressed elegantly in a sleek black blouse and eye-catching green camouflage pants.

A pair of mothers and daughters became part of an esteemed group of influential women, publicly announcing their ballot choices, as celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, and Brooke Shields illuminated social media with posts expressing their enthusiasm for the elections.

The Pretty Woman alum cast her vote as she wore a POTUS female T-shirt.

She posted on Instagram, “Now is the moment for hope, now is the moment for prayer, and now is the moment to vote. Today is the day we do it!

Demi Moore, Alyssa Milano, Valerie Bertinelli and Chelsea Handler also urged their fans to vote. 

Speaking about Madonna’s contemporaries in the pop music sphere, Beyoncé recently joined Kamala Harris during her election campaigns in Texas. Interestingly, she has given permission for the vice president to play her hit track ‘Freedom’ at these campaign events.

In a surprising move, Taylor Swift quickly expressed her strong support for Harris, doing so shortly after the major presidential debate, one of the most significant evenings in the campaign.

On the occasion of Lourdes’ birthday celebration, Madonna subsequently embarked on a voting journey, sharing heartfelt tributes and charming retro pictures on various social media platforms.

This moment also finds her grieving the recent loss of her brother, Christopher Ciccone. 

Around mid-October, the singer was spotted at a Kabbalah center in New York City alongside her boyfriend, Akeem Morris. It appeared that she found solace in both her religious beliefs and her partner during this difficult time, as she mourned the loss of her brother due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 63.

In simpler terms, Kabbalah – a Jewish tradition focusing on understanding the divine nature – seems to provide solace for Madonna amidst her challenging circumstances.

Just last week, I found myself reflecting on a significant relationship in my life – my cherished younger brother, who recently passed away. For as long as I can remember, he stood by my side, and it’s challenging to articulate the depth of our connection.

Madonna, the pop star known for her Material Girl hits, has a total of five full siblings – Anthony, Martin, Paula, and Melanie, born to her parents as a family. Additionally, she has two half-siblings, Jennifer and Mario, who were born from her father’s subsequent marriage following her mother’s passing due to breast cancer in 1963.

As Christopher’s last moments approached, she penned down her thoughts: ‘His agony intensified near the end. One more time, we intertwined our hands. Eyes closed, we swayed in dance. A unity of spirits. It brings me solace that he is now free from his suffering.’

‘There will never be anyone like him. I know he’s dancing somewhere.’
