WWE to dedicate an episode of Monday Night Raw to The New Day

As a long-time WWE fan who has witnessed countless tag team rivalries unfold, I must admit that the current tension between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day is one of the most intriguing stories to emerge on Monday Night Raw. Being an avid viewer for close to two decades now, I’ve seen my fair share of partnerships crumbling under pressure, only to be reborn or replaced by new alliances.

A popular topic on WWE Monday Night Raw is the growing conflict between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, which has been simmering for months as they argue over the future of their group, The New Day. On November 4, a social media post by WWE Raw’s General Manager, Adam Pearce, revealed that there will be a celebration to mark the tenth anniversary of the faction. This moment, which some fans have been apprehensive about and others have eagerly anticipated, appears to be upon us now.

In a social media video Pearce approached Kingston about the special episode.

This year marks a decade since New Day began. It’s high time we celebrate these men, Pearce said. You are one of the most honored tag teams in WWE history. If it’s alright with you all, I actually wanted to designate a special episode of Raw for celebrating you. An entire episode, if that’s okay with you all.

For enthusiasts well-versed in sports spectacles, particularly WWE’s portrayal, it’s usually straightforward to foresee events similar to these. Often, one ally will betray the other, igniting a legendary rivalry that could potentially propel either of them into a successful solo career.

In this unique scenario, there are two possibilities: one is that Woods’ persistent frustrations may eventually lead him to end his association with Kingston. But another thought is that maybe Kingston has become fed up first, having been blamed for the team’s problems over the past few months and deciding to take action.

It’s plausible that this event could signal Big E’s comeback on TV, given his absence from significant storylines since a severe injury over two years ago. While he has made appearances for commentary before PPVs and in other capacities, this has not involved The New Day as TV characters. If his theme music plays and he appears during this segment, the audience is likely to go wild. His role could either reunite The New Day or witness their disintegration. Regardless, Big E’s involvement in this tribute episode seems crucial to progress the storyline further.

One significant faction in professional wrestling lore continues to hold great significance – New Day. The trio comprising Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston have broken barriers that were seemingly unattainable for wrestlers resembling them throughout history. Their journey to success was not solo, but a collective effort. If this chapter of their faction is indeed closing (even temporarily), WWE should narrate it effectively, ensuring ample time for the story to resonate with both fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
