Robert Irwin maintains his silence over HelloFresh's 'unfair' UK dismissal claims as Aussie influencer vows to stop working with brand

As a lifestyle expert with over three decades of experience in the industry, I have seen countless partnerships between influencers and brands, some successful and others less so. The recent controversy surrounding Robert Irwin and HelloFresh is one that has caught my attention due to its complexity and potential implications for both parties involved.

Robert Irwin remains quiet following the controversy surrounding HelloFresh, his business associate, over allegations of unfair terminations in the UK.

The conservationist, 20, launched a new advertising venture with the major food delivery company earlier this year, fronting a string of Australian adverts for them.

More recently, the international company has faced scrutiny following labor protests at a UK facility, where 79 employees were terminated. The company, HelloFresh, has refuted allegations of unfair dismissals.

Ever since that announcement, my heart has been heavy knowing that HelloFresh is saying goodbye to no less than 900 team members and shutting down one of their UK distribution centers. It’s a tough reality for us fans to accept, as we cherish the service they provide.

In the midst of recent news, Danielle Mitchell decided to share on Instagram that she was ending her partnership with HelloFresh due to the allegations.

As a devoted follower, I couldn’t help but notice that an influential Australian Instagram account, @influencer.updates.au, showcased Robert’s partnership with the brand by posting a picture of their advertisement.

Nevertheless, it appears that TV host Robert has not publicly responded to the accusations, keeping quiet across his various social media platforms.

In the last few days, he hasn’t shared a new ad for HelloFresh, but he also hasn’t addressed the UK allegations. It seems like he continues to work with the brand.

A representative from HelloFresh Australia stated: “We’re proud that HelloFresh is known for its compassionate and considerate treatment of employees and for creating a secure and nurturing work environment throughout all our locations.

As a devoted follower, I feel compelled to clarify some misconceptions about the employee experience at HelloFresh, following some questionable content on TikTok. The depiction presented in the video doesn’t align with our core values and is not an authentic reflection of our company culture.

As a dedicated lifestyle enthusiast, I wholeheartedly prioritize the well-being of my team members. I strive to be a preferred employer in every community where our operations reside, ensuring a nurturing and empowering environment for all.

‘We have been in touch with Robert directly regarding this matter.’

HelloFresh is recognized globally as a preferred collaborator with numerous influencers, often seen endorsing their meal kit service across various social media platforms and advertisements.

In Australia, individuals such as Natalie Tran, Celeste Barber, Beau Ryan, and Ed Kavalee have appeared in advertisements for a food delivery service.

Worldwide, Neil Patrick Harris and his spouse David Burtka, along with several popular British personalities such as television hosts and Love Island celebrities, have teamed up with the brand as well.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Robert’s representatives for comment.

On a Monday, Australian social media sensation Danielle voiced her thoughts on Instagram Stories regarding the ongoing UK demonstrations concerning the termination of HelloFresh employees.

Instead of continuing her collaboration with the brand, she announced that she’s stepping back due to recent news, expressing gratitude towards her fans for bringing the accusations to her notice.

As a devoted follower, I felt compelled to share some thoughts on the recent rumors swirling around HelloFresh’s handling of their UK staff. Here’s my two cents.

Previously, I collaborated with HelloFresh, but I feel it’s important to make clear that our partnership ended in June or July. During that period, I wasn’t privy to the ongoing events.

As a committed supporter, I unequivocally denounce the unjust actions that have been brought to my attention. I’m grateful to those who have shared their concerns by reaching out and tagging me in their videos.

‘I want to be clear that I will not be collaborating with HelloFresh moving forward. Thank you for your continued support.’

Last month, HelloFresh confirmed it will bid farewell to 900 members of staff amid plans to close one of its UK distribution centres.

HelloFresh announced that they made this decision after thorough thought, and will initiate a discussion period with the impacted staff regarding their plans.

It came after staff at the warehouse staged a protest earlier this month after 79 workers were let go.

In simpler terms, the union that stands for workers found the news disappointing and expressed that the staff deserved a better situation.

As a lifestyle consultant, I’ve come across situations where employees have expressed concerns about aspects like restroom break policies within their work environment. It’s important to note that these complaints, when addressed promptly and fairly, can contribute to a healthier, more productive workplace. However, it’s concerning if dismissals follow such expressions of concern.

In response to the allegations, HelloFresh stated that employees were terminated due to significant violations of their employment contracts.

The company informed the BBC that they are examining their business practices to ensure they operate in a sustainable manner and provide the top-quality product to their clients.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but share this exciting news: The majority of those let go are being given the opportunity to relocate within the organization, with positions available at both our Derby and Banbury locations!

The company also stressed that the shake-up would be better for the planet.

The proposal suggests transitioning to a ‘dual-location strategy’ would enable us to minimize waste, reduce our carbon emissions, and provide tailored experiences for our customers.
