Tyler Perry has announced that his show, Beauty in Black, will return for a third season on Netflix, with new episodes coming soon.
Perry, the creator, director, and executive producer of Beauty in Black, told Sherry Shepard on The Sherry Shepard Show that the third season has already been completed.
The series centers around Mallory (Crystle Stewart) and her thriving hair care company. However, beneath the surface of success, her family’s relationships are complex and their wealth is built on surprising foundations. The story also follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore), who was forced to work at the family’s strip club but rises within Mallory’s business, driven by the need to protect herself and her family. The cast also includes Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Terrell Carter, Steven G. Norfleet, Charles Malik Whitfield, Julian Horton, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, and others.
Perry explained in the interview that he created Beauty in Black as a tribute to his mother, who loved watching shows like Dynasty.
The Netflix series Beauty in Black first launched in 2024, and the second half of its second season became available on March 19th.
The director discussed future plans for Beauty in Black and also revealed a new project: a show called Where There’s Smoke. This scripted series, which is already in production, will center around the lives of Black firefighters.
According to IMDB, the show centers on a team of firefighters who face dangerous situations at work and difficult personal issues at home, exploring the emotional impact of their life-saving work.
I’m so excited about Tyler Perry’s new series! From what I’ve read, it’s going to be 16 episodes long and star Tyler Lepley, Mike Merrill, and Da’Vinchi. Perry didn’t give away too much detail in the interview, but he did say the show will be about firefighters—they’ll be, you know, putting out fires! And good news for us, like Beauty In The Black, it’ll be streaming on Netflix too.
It’s not yet known when season three of Beauty in Black will be available for streaming. Perry simply stated it “will air next year.” He also announced that season three will be the last season of the show.
Season two of Beauty in Black is out now on Netflix.
