4 moments we need to discuss from From season 3 episode 7

As a seasoned gamer of apocalyptic survival games, I can say that this week’s episode of From has taken the tension and suspense to a whole new level. The mysterious ghostly figure, the unexplained deaths, and the power struggles among the characters are reminiscent of the thrilling twists and turns in my favorite post-apocalyptic video games.

Spoilers ahead for From season 3 episode 7

We’re now well past the midpoint of the third season of “From“, and things are beginning to take a turn for the complex. This week, Tabitha, Ethan, and Jade embark on a journey towards the lake region, where Tabitha hopes to observe the wards and boulders personally as she seeks to clarify to Jim why witnessing them in her childhood nightmares held such significance.

Discuss the significant events in this episode as Fatima’s non-pregnancy situation becomes increasingly complex, causing a rise in tension throughout the town, particularly between newcomer Officer Acosta and Boyd. Let’s delve into some of the key moments from this episode.

Elgin’s discovery

In an unexpected turn of events, the camera suddenly activates within Colony House when Elgin is present, capturing a photograph that guides him to a cellar on the edge of town – a place familiar from previous encounters involving Jade and Boyd. Upon entering, Elgin stumbles upon a deceased individual, and once more, encounters the ghost adorned in a kimono.

Is he wondering if this is the scene she intended for him to observe? You may remember that during season 1, Jade previously noticed a corpse in the exact spot, but it’s uncertain whether it was the same individual or not. Originally, Kenny thought it possible that Jade might have been experiencing hallucinations at that moment.

Julie and Randall bond

In this installment, there were heartwarming moments shared by Julie and Randall, giving off an impression of them having a close bond resembling that of a little sister and big brother. Notably, once Randall found out Julie had never obtained her learner’s permit, he took it upon himself to instruct her on how to drive.

In my gaming experience, I often find myself stumbling upon scenes that send chills down my spine. Once more, I was hallucinating swarms of creepy crawlies, and Julie caught notice. With a quick glance over our shoulders, we bolted into the forest, where an eerie place with shattered stone arches greeted us. The air seemed heavy, and I could feel a strange presence looming there. My heart raced as I urged Julie to get out of there swiftly. Could this be connected to the mysterious music box and all the bizarre events we’ve encountered?

What is Acosta’s problem?

It seems clear that I’m not alone in finding Acosta rather grating in this episode. One might wonder who this woman believes herself to be. Granted, she’s undoubtedly facing challenges similar to those other newcomers faced, yet her actions towards Boyd were quite extraordinary, considering she arrived and straightaway took someone’s life.

It was hard not to chuckle when she brandished her police badge, seemingly thinking it held weight in such a place as this wretched nightmare. I can’t help but feel a sense of unease, suspecting Acosta may try to seize control from Boyd, and the events unfolding at the end of this episode could very well provide that chance.

Fatima kills Tilly

In last week’s broadcast, it was evident that Fatima’s situation goes far beyond mere spoiled food and vampiric tendencies. She is, in fact, not pregnant but something unusual is transpiring within her. The predicament escalates further throughout this episode as those around her scramble for a resolution. However, matters reach a boiling point in the thrilling denouement of the episode when Tilly rushes to Fatima’s side, only for Fatima to fatally stab her with gardening shears in self-defense.

It seems like the idea that Fatima might turn into a monster is becoming increasingly plausible, doesn’t it? In her last moments, Tilly warns Fatima to flee because if anyone discovers what she did, it will lead to serious trouble. Extremely serious trouble. Given this, we can guess that Ellis and Boyd might attempt to shield Fatima and conceal Tilly’s demise, thus providing Acosta an opportunity to maneuver and instigate a genuine power struggle.
