Harrison Ford’s chef son Ben Ford echoes famous father in endorsing Kamala Harris
As a child of Hollywood royalty and a seasoned restaurateur myself, I have always been deeply moved by the power of influence that comes with fame and success. Seeing my father, Harrison Ford, endorse Kamala Harris for the upcoming U.S. presidential election is not only heartening but also inspiring.
Ben Ford, the offspring of the well-known actor Harrison Ford, shared again a video where his dad expressed support for Kamala Harris during the upcoming U.S. Presidential Election.
On Sunday, Ben, who is 58 years old, shared a video on his account followed by 17,800 people, one day after his father, aged 82, expressed his intention to cast a vote for Kamala Harris in a clip circulated by the Democrat’s campaign team.
In the video, the actor who was nominated for an Oscar and is well-known for his roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo in the Star Wars series, publicly endorsed Harris and his running mate, Tim Walz.
Harrison stated that these two individuals uphold the principle of legal authority. They also trust in scientific facts. When it comes to governing, they prioritize serving everyone across America. These values resonate with me. I can wholeheartedly support them.
Harrison made clear his disdain for the Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump.
According to Harrison, during his term from 2017-2021, Trump spent four years creating divisions among us by aligning with dictators and tyrants worldwide. However, he believes that isn’t reflective of our character. He argues that America is already great; we don’t need a slogan like “Make America Great Again.
‘All we need is to work together again. All we need is a president who works for all of us again.’
In another video, Harrison pointed out that the backing of Harris by ex-Trump aides signifies something significant.
If many ex-members of the Trump administration are warning, “Please, avoid repeating this mistake,” then their advice should be taken seriously, he emphasized.
In conclusion, the seasoned performer declared that he has just as much voting power as everyone else, and he plans to exercise it to progress. He intends to cast his ballot for Kamala Harris.
Among many distinguished figures, Harrison has added his support to the Democratic party, joining an esteemed group that encompasses his Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill, along with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruce Springsteen.
Ben is a former spouse of Harrison and renowned chef Mary Marquardt, having been married between 1964 and 1979. Currently, he manages and owns Ford’s Filling Station, an eatery situated within the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The restaurant initially opened in Culver City, California, but closed in June 2014, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Notably, Ben has worked in various restaurants, including Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Campanile in Los Angeles, as outlined on his culinary resume.
Last August, Ben participated in a digital food initiative aimed at boosting the Harris campaign, known as “Cooking for Kamala.
The livestream included a number of other prominent personalities in the culinary community, such as chef José Andrès and Top Chef stars Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons, with Padma Lakshmi and Joel McHale hosting.
Harrison has four children in total: Willard Ford, who is 55 years old and the offspring of Marquardt, Malcolm, aged 36, and Georgia, aged 34, both of whom were born to his former wife Melissa Mathison, and Liam Flockhart, a 23-year-old adopted child he shares with his current spouse Calista Flockhart.
