Paddington in Peru first reactions land ahead of cinema release
As a die-hard Paddington fan who grew up with these charming bear tales, I can confidently say that my childhood memories are safe and sound with the latest installment, “Paddington in Peru.” Having watched every single adventure of our beloved Peruvian bear, I must admit I was skeptical about a change of director and actress playing Mrs. Brown. But fear not, dear reader! The magic continues as the Browns’ newcomer, Emily Mortimer, seamlessly slips into Sally Hawkins’ shoes, while Dougal Wilson delivers a fresh yet familiar take on the Paddington universe.
At long last, Paddington makes his appearance in British theaters this week, and here are the initial responses to the highly anticipated new film.
In contrast to seven years following “Paddington 2”, the third installment finds our friends Paddington and the Brown family embarking on a trip to Peru to locate Aunt Lucy. Upon arrival, they find her missing, which sets off an extraordinary journey for them all.
After the initial screening on November 3rd in London, some fortunate individuals who’ve caught a glimpse of Paddington 3 are expressing their immediate thoughts on Twitter.
So, does Paddington in Peru live up to the previous two movies?
In a somewhat rocky beginning, the film “Paddington in Peru” manages to get its act together, providing all that one expects from a “Paddington” movie – creative visuals, amusing jokes, and a generous helping of heartfelt emotions,” stated Digital Spy’s movies editor Ian Sandwell.
“Olivia Colman is excellent (because, of course), but it’s Antonio Banderas who steals it. He’s exceptional.”
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d put it like this: “While Paddington 3 might not reach the heights of its predecessors initially, it still offers a charming journey for our favorite bear. It takes a moment to find its stride, but once it does, it’s another delightful adventure we can all enjoy.
Colman shines as a singing nun, while Banderas steals the show with his humor. Could we keep making these films endlessly, I’d appreciate it?
As a gamer myself, I’d say: The new #PaddingtonInPeru might not perfectly convey the enchantment and magic from the second movie, but it’s still packed with heartfelt moments and thrilling adventures that the whole family can savor together.
Bravo to Olivia Colman, reminiscent of Julie Andrews, who undeniably outshines everyone else. I absolutely loved her eccentric musical performance!
Phil Roberts expressed: “I truly enjoyed Dougal Wilson’s #PaddingtonInPeru; it’s an incredibly enjoyable adventure film. Olivia Colman delivers another stellar performance, but the stunning visuals make this third installment the most visually appealing so far. It’s a side-splitting comedy.
Aaron Onaza went on to express his appreciation, stating: “The third installment, ‘#PaddingtonInPeru’, is as charming as the first two movies and maintains the perfect blend of emotion and humor that this franchise is known for. Although Paul King’s creatively playful direction is somewhat missed, Dougal Wilson delivers an exceptional performance in this film.
Just before the premiere of the third film, “Paddington” and “Paddington 2” have been brought back on Netflix in the United Kingdom and Ireland for those who wish to revisit them.
In the making of Paddington 3, both on-screen and off-screen roles underwent shifts: Dougal Wilson stepped up as director from Paul King, while Emily Mortimer took over the role of Mrs Brown from Sally Hawkins who opted not to reprise her part.
Mortimer mentioned that it was a truly complimentary experience to be offered the position, despite the fact that it presented numerous challenging aspects.
Paddington in Peru is released in UK cinemas on November 8 and in US cinemas on January 17, 2025.
