Watch as Strictly star Pete Wicks whispers sweet message to his dance partner Jowita Pryzstal seconds after huge dance error
As someone who has spent decades observing the intricacies of human relationships, both on and off the dance floor, I must say, this feud between Nancy and Carlos is truly surprising. Having known them since their childhood days, it’s disheartening to see such a rift between two individuals who once shared a close bond.
On Saturday evening, shortly after completing their dance, Pete Wicks could be overheard apologizing multiple times to his Strictly Come Dancing partner, Jowita Pryzstal.
Previously known TOWIE celebrity, aged 36, metamorphosed into Freddie Mercury, the iconic Queen frontman, during his grand entrance on the BBC program. He kicked off the event with a spirited salsa dance to the classic tune “Another One Bites The Dust.
Though he was certainly dressed the part with Freddie’s trademark moustache and slick backed hair, Pete’s performance was flawed.
In this rephrased version, the sentence describes a risky maneuver by the reality star during his routine, which saw him swinging Jowita very near the ground, almost causing her to hit the dance floor:
After concluding the dance during the initial Icons Week performance, Pete was overheard apologizing to Jowita upon her approach.
He said: ‘I’m sorry, darling. I’m sorry. I’m so so sorry’.
Jowita was heard reassuring Pete saying everything was OK.
The panel consisting of Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse appreciated Pete’s stage presence while also pointing out some mistakes he made in his performance.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to express my appreciation for your exceptional portrayal of Freddie Mercury. Rest assured, there will be no overly critical assessment here, and I’ll share the reasons behind my praise.
It appears that there were numerous errors on your part, and it seems unfair not to acknowledge this fact since the mistakes were quite noticeable.
What truly stood out to me was your ability to grasp it quickly. You showed incredible resilience, completing your tasks, and demonstrating an admirable ‘keep calm and carry on’ attitude. You simply got on with the task at hand and did a commendable job.
‘May they vote for you because you were great.’
Meanwhile Craig said: ‘What a terrible shame. It lacked rotation, it lacked fluidity’.
Motsi added: ‘The dancing needs to get better.’
In the end, Pete scored only 22 points, placing him last on the scoreboard. Craig earned a 4, while the other judges each gave him a 6.
Afterwards, Pete mentioned to host Claudia Winkleman that it was a privilege for him to dance as Freddie. However, he found the song selection a bit ironic.
He added: ‘It’s probably written in the stars, but I enjoyed it.’
In another part of the performance, Nancy Xu and Carlos Gu maintained a somewhat uncomfortable space at the Clauditorium.
Shortly following the live broadcast on BBC, rumors surfaced that the duo experienced an unexpected disagreement and have since chosen to maintain silence when interacting off-camera.
In their past, Nancy (age 33) and Carlos (age 31), who both hail from China, had a long-standing friendship that dated back to their childhood days. They used to have adorable pet names for each other.
The duo has stopped following one another on social platforms, and it’s being reported that off-stage friction has left their colleagues in disbelief.
Meanwhile, up in the studio’s upper region, Nancy positioned herself at the farthest left side, accompanied by her celebrity dance partner, Shayne Ward, as they joined the host Claudia for a post-performance discussion with the dancers and pros.
I, Carlos, found myself positioned on the opposite side from Claudia this season, as I cheered for Amy Dowden from afar. Amy had bravely returned to the show after overcoming a health hurdle, and I was proud to stand by her side, offering my support.
Carlos was dressed as David Bowie with his iconic face paint and rede hair.
On Saturday, a source revealed to The Sun: “The rift between Nancy and Carlos is deeply disappointing and has left everyone utterly stunned. Once inseparable since their childhood days, they’ve grown apart and no longer follow each other on social media.
In my expert opinion, I believe some tension may have surfaced as Carlos felt let down due to not being partnered with a celebrity during this season, whereas Nancy has been quite occupied, rehearsing alongside the talented Shayne Ward, aged 40.
According to the report, there seems to be an uncomfortable and tense vibe on set whenever both individuals are present. To some, it was a welcome absence when Carlos missed the show several weeks back.
As a lifestyle connoisseur reporting for TopMob, I can share that behind-the-scenes sources have shared with me that both Carols and Nancy maintain an exceptionally amicable demeanor and consistently display the highest level of professionalism while on the Strictly set.
TopMob have the dancers representative and the BBC for comment.
The Icons Week results will air this evening on BBC One at 7.20pm.
