The Day of the Jackal on Peacock
Among all the releases scheduled for November, I’m particularly thrilled about “The Day of the Jackal”. The reason lies not only in my admiration for Eddie Redmayne as an actor, but also because this upcoming Peacock series offers a unique opportunity to witness him delve into a complex, enigmatic character, which is a departure from his previous roles.
Titled “The Day of the Jackal,” this captivating series follows Redmayne as the elusive Jackal, a skilled assassin-for-hire who has evaded authorities for what seems like an eternity. However, his cunning may meet its match in the arrival of Bianca (Lashana Lynch). Spanning 10 thrilling episodes, viewers can catch the first five episodes on Nov. 14, with new installments dropping each week, concluding with a double finale on Dec 12.
Say Nothing on Hulu
A fresh series titled “Say Nothing” can now be found on Hulu. This story is adapted from the book “Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland,” written by Patrick Radden Keefe. The narrative will interweave four distinct perspectives, but the central focus will be on the mysterious disappearance of Jean McConville, a mother of ten children who seemingly vanished without a trace. This Hulu mystery-drama series consists of nine episodes and will be available for streaming starting November 14.
Dune: Prophecy on HBO (and Max)
HBO is delving further into the realm of Dune with the upcoming series “Dune: Prophecy,” which draws inspiration from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel “Sisterhood of Dune.” Unlike the films, you don’t have to watch them before diving into this series, but it might enhance your experience. The show focuses on two Harkonnen sisters who are gearing up to battle against malevolent forces that endanger humanity’s future. In “Dune: Prophecy,” you can expect to see stars like Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Joanna Scanlan, Mark Strong, and others. New episodes will be available weekly, starting November 17th.
