Porsha Williams achieves victory in legal battle with ex-husband over embarrassing sex problem

Porsha Williams has won her legal battle with her ex-husband, Simon Guobadia. He sued her over posts she made on Instagram regarding a sensitive personal issue.

A judge has thrown out a defamation case brought by 61-year-old Guobadia against 44-year-old Williams. The lawsuit stemmed from Williams publicly discussing erectile dysfunction, which Guobadia believed was about him.

Guobadia requested the case be dismissed because he was deported from the U.S. last year and didn’t know if he’d be allowed to return for a trial, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The issue began in 2024 when Williams shared details about a health condition with her Instagram followers. While she didn’t mention Guobadia by name, her posts hinted that he was affected.

Guobadia then sued Williams, but the judge, while allowing him to drop the case, cautioned that he would be responsible for Williams’ legal costs if he tried to sue again.

Williams claims he did nothing wrong and isn’t responsible, but the judge had already determined that Guobadia proved the posts were about him, as reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The judge stated that, based on what the posts directly said, they presented factual details about the situation.

In January, Guobadia asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit himself, but he wanted to keep the option open to file it again later.

He stated, as reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that this request is sincere and not intended to stall the process or gain an unfair advantage. He also confirmed he is still pursuing his arguments and won’t back down from the legal questions at hand.

TMZ reported that Guobadia claimed he was deeply upset by the public mockery he received following a post by Williams.

He stated the information was presented as a definite truth, not just her personal belief, and that this harmed his reputation.

Guobadia reacted to the dismissal of the lawsuit with a statement to The Daily Mail, making it clear that the legal fight wasn’t finished.

I chose to drop the case earlier this year. The court has now made its decision, and importantly, the judge rejected Porsha Williams’ lawyers’ requests to end the case permanently and to be reimbursed for their legal costs.

This means I ended the case on my own terms, with no negative implications, and I wasn’t required to pay any legal fees. I chose to stop pursuing the lawsuit; it wasn’t imposed on me.

Being dismissed without prejudice simply means I can still pursue the same legal claims against Porsha Williams later on. Importantly, a court hasn’t made any decision about whether my claims are actually wrong or don’t have a valid basis.

This outcome is quite different from what Porsha Williams’ lawyers asked for. They wanted the case dismissed completely, preventing me from bringing it up again, and securing a clear win for her. However, that request was turned down, as was her request to be reimbursed for her legal costs. Ultimately, her team didn’t achieve the legal victory they were hoping for.

Let me be clear: this isn’t resolved yet. I’m talking with my lawyers about whether to re-submit the case before the court’s deadline.

Porsha Williams and her team shouldn’t assume that my decision to drop the lawsuit means I’m giving up my rights or that my original claims weren’t valid.

Williams and Guobadia’s marriage crumbled less than two years after they wed.

The couple had two weddings in 2022, but they filed for divorce in 2024. The divorce was officially completed last June, as reported by People magazine.

Williams explained to People magazine last year that going through a difficult experience involves several phases. First comes anger, then the struggle to defend yourself, and finally, a sense of peace and gratitude as you recognize the good things you still have.

‘Your family is by our side, your child is protected; there’s a whole new life that you can start.’

Williams has since moved on.

She’s found love with Patrice ‘Sway’ McKinney, who owns Encore Salon Suites in Atlanta.

At BravoCon 2025, Williams admitted it took her over four decades to finally figure out dating.

She told the woman, who was in her thirties and feeling nervous about dating, ‘Look, if we’re meant to be, it’ll just happen. If we connect, we’ll both feel it, and we’ll build a relationship together, won’t we?’ She was encouraging the woman to trust in the possibility of a natural connection.

The reality star explained that to avoid feeling anxious about dating, you need to try a new approach to find someone who’s really compatible with you.

Williams joked, ‘It takes some people until their early 40s – like me – to really get things figured out. So don’t rush it.’

She finished her advice by saying, ‘Date with a clear sense of self and knowing what you’re looking for, and don’t hesitate to end things immediately if you spot any warning signs!’
