Ronan Keating slams music industry in wake of Liam Payne's death: 'They only care about making it work financially'

As a dedicated follower of the music industry and someone who has walked the same path as Ronan Keating, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of empathy for the tragic loss of Liam Payne. Having been thrust into the limelight at a young age myself, I understand the challenges that come with it, and it’s clear that the industry failed to provide adequate support to our friend Liam.

Former boyband star Ronan Keating has slammed the music industry in the wake of Liam Payne’s death.

47-year-old Irish singer was once friends with the deceased member of One Direction band, who tragically passed away last week in Buenos Aires following a fall from a balcony.

The former Boyzone member recently criticized the entertainment industry for thrusting young talents into the spotlight unprepared for the complexities of the show business world.

Speaking about Payne, Keating remarked that he’s a truly “wonderful person.” He last met Payne around a year back in Dubai, and then shared some personal thoughts about the challenging nature of the music industry.

He mused that these boys had been grouped together at a very early stage of their lives, as he made an appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia on a Friday.

Like Keating, Payne was just 16 years old when he joined One Direction in 2010.

‘The industry is a really difficult and a tough place,’ Keating added.

During his later career, when Keating was a judge on programs such as The X Factor and The Voice, the producers would arrange for a psychologist to offer support to the contestants.

He stated that when a record/management company begins to form a band, they don’t deal with such matters. (In this context, “such stuff” refers to legal or business complications.)

They only care about making it work financially,’ added co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Indeed,” Keating concurred, noting that Payne’s premature and unfortunate demise could potentially spark beneficial transformations within the music scene.

Keating made the comments ahead of his appearance at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

On November 7, the well-known musician is set to make a unique appearance at Flemington Racecourse for the Crown Oaks Day celebrations, where they will give a performance.

On November 6th, he’ll be doing a more intimate show exclusively for fortunate attendees of the VRC Crown Oaks Club Lunch, prior to his grand performance scheduled for the next day.

In the ’90s, Keating gained popularity together with Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy, Michael ‘Mikey’ Graham, and Stephen Gately as members of the boyband Boyzone, which was created by pop manager Louis Walsh.

The team garnered both international recognition and six chart-topping hits in the UK, among which were songs like “Words,” “No Matter What,” “All That Matters To Me,” and “You Needed Me.

In 2000, the band officially broke up, yet they frequently reunite for significant tours such as the Back Again… No Matter What tour in 2009. This was their last performance together as a five-member group prior to Stephen’s demise.

Stephen tragically died suddenly in 2009 of a congenital heart defect aged 33.

The band also reunited in 2013 to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tour and new releases.

2018 saw Boyzone announcing their permanent separation following the release of an album honoring their deceased band member, Stephen.

One Direction singer Payne fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16.

The local authorities stated that they had initially responded to a report about a potentially intoxicated man exhibiting aggressive behavior.

According to the BBC report, officials became aware of a loud noise in the courtyard around 5 pm, shortly after which they found his body.

As reported by TMZ, Liam was displaying strange behavior in the hotel lobby and ended up damaging his laptop. Later, he needed assistance to be taken back to his room.
