Shudder continues its Season of Screams with November schedule
As a horror enthusiast with a penchant for the bizarre and the macabre, I find myself utterly enthralled by this eclectic lineup of chills and thrills that November has in store. From the claustrophobic confines of a black cab to the haunting dolls lurking in a Philadelphia home, these tales promise to send shivers down my spine.
Shudder’s “Season of Screams” is carrying on through November, adding fresh documentaries, movies, and some old favorites to the mix. This is definitely something to be grateful for, so let’s explore what new content is joining the Shudder collection.
November 1:
“Chucky’s Documentary” (Shudder Original) – This documentary features cast and crew members from the Child’s Play series, as well as critics and specialists, who collectively explore the rich history behind the infamous doll, Chucky.
In “Child’s Play 2”, when Andy’s mother is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, he finds himself in foster care. However, the menacing doll Chucky continues his pursuit, determined to seize Andy’s soul.
Teenage Terror: Chucky’s Comeback – After learning that his malevolent plaything, Chucky, is back with plans to take over another young soul, Andy, now a student at a military academy, embarks on a mission to thwart the menacing doll.
In this movie titled “Bride of Chucky,” Tiffany Valentine, who used to be with Chucky, brings him back to life. However, their relationship takes a dark turn when they have a violent argument about marriage, leading to Tiffany’s demise at Chucky’s hands. Later on, Tiffany is reborn in the form of a bride doll, and the duo must collaborate to find a way to be reincarnated as humans again.
In the world of gaming, I’m often caught up in the thrilling tale of “Child of Chucky”. You see, Chucky and his significant other, Tiffany, discover they have a spawn. The twist? Tiffany attempts to halt Chucky’s killing spree, but to no avail. The duo then concocts a cunning scheme – they aim to invade the physical forms of actress Jennifer Tilly and rapper Redman, turning our ordinary lives into a horrifying puppet show!

November 4:
This documentary, titled “The J-Horror Virus”, delves into the roots of terrifying Japanese horror movies that emerged around the year 2000. These films often depict vengeful spirits appearing through modern technology amidst a setting of urban disconnection and societal deterioration.
In simpler terms, the entity often referred to as “The Slit Mouth Woman” is a ghostly figure believed to abduct children, although the motives behind her actions remain a mystery.
