Dancing On Ice fans are shocked as two pro skaters announce they are leaving the hit ITV competition after a total of 18 years on the show
As a long-time fan of Dancing On Ice, I must admit I was quite saddened to hear that Brendyn is bidding farewell after this season. He has been an integral part of the show and his absence will surely be felt. However, I’m excited to see what this final season holds for him, hoping it will be a fitting end to his skating journey.
Fans of Dancing On Ice were taken aback when two professional skaters announced their departure from the popular ITV series on a Tuesday.
As we eagerly await the premiere of the new season set for January, I, a dedicated follower, am sharing some exciting news. Mark Hanretty, who’s been part of our journey since 2011, has announced that he will be bidding farewell after the series concluding in 2025. Additionally, Brendyn Hatfield has also shared that this will mark his sixth and last series with us.
Mark announced on Instagram that he can’t wait to savor every moment of the newest contest, as he plans to retire from competing after participating in 12 series.
He wrote: ‘Hard to believe I’m embarking on my 12th series of Dancing on Ice.
I’m just as thrilled as before, and I’m deeply appreciative for another opportunity to contribute to what is undeniably the best ice show out there.
‘This will be my last year as a pro skater and I’m eager to soak up every second of it!’
Supporters quickly flooded the comment section expressing their disappointment at the departure of the professional skater, and expressing hope that he might win the trophy one more time.
I’ll truly miss watching your favorite series, as you’re my beloved professional skater. It’s tough to see you go! But we’ve got to aim for that victory before you depart. Things just won’t feel the same without your presence in the series anymore.
Don’t go, Mark! I can’t bear it that one of my favorite male skaters is leaving. I hope this new series brings you great success and you manage to win the trophy before you depart.
Oh dear, I can hardly believe it’s your final season, Mark! Fervently hoping that you manage to secure a victory this year. We’re sending all our best wishes and cheers for ice and skates 🏆💫, as we truly cherish you!!
Last year, Mark was partnered with BBC Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts and came in third place.
“Adele wrote: ‘Congratulations to one of the finest individuals I’ve come across! I am overjoyed for your partner. They have an exceptional teacher, a kind and loving soul, and a sturdy support system that is second to none ❤️ xxx’
Moreover, it wasn’t just Mark who decided to retire from skating; Brendyn also announced that this would mark his sixth and last series in the profession.
Brendyn is currently dating S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens, having initially connected during their participation in the 2022 series together.
Last year he competed with comedian Lou Sanders.
Here we go! Thrilled to return for my sixth and last season on Dancing On Ice. Let’s aim for an outstanding finale!
As a devoted viewer, I can’t help but feel crushed yet again by the latest announcement, joining countless others in expressing our deep sadness over his departure from ITV. The comments section is flooded with fellow fans sharing their dismay at this turn of events.
Even though this is your last series, I’ll always be there cheering you on and you’re the best! Here’s to a fantastic finale!
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that next season’s lineup is unveiled, featuring familiar faces such as Chelsee Healy, Dan Edgar, Chris Taylor, and Michaela Strachan. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!
As a lifestyle aficionado, I must confess that I too have found myself in a similar predicament as the vibrant Ferne McCann. Just like her, I’m about to embark on an icy journey and can’t quite fathom how I’ll manage to be ‘live show ready’. The ice rink is a new terrain for me, but I’m eagerly looking forward to the challenge!
At the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday, the celebrity openly discussed her apprehensions regarding participating in the ITV competition, which she was addressing when speaking to TopMob.
Frankly, people often ask me, “Aren’t you able to ice skate?”, and I’ve discovered it’s quite challenging to respond. To be honest, I can’t ice skate; I’ve only been a few times during Winter Wonderlands on Sundays.
Typically, I find myself leaning over a penguin in an attempt to help her stand upright. It requires effort, as I am quite active and enjoy my workouts, but this situation presents a unique set of challenges for me.
I’ve started enjoying the thrill of ice skating as my two-week training has picked up pace, and it feels fantastic to pick up a fresh ability.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but confess my unyielding fascination with the reality TV sensation. Every now and then, I find myself immersed in their YouTube videos and scrolling through the Dancing On Ice Instagram feed. However, I’ve realized that it’s best for me to concentrate on each day as it comes rather than constantly peeking, as it tends to disrupt my focus.
In my current state, I find it hard to envision a clear path towards making things work live-ready. It simply seems beyond my grasp or understanding.
Ferne explained that she’s balancing parenting well as the training only takes up two hours per day, five days a week.
She noted that Sundays at school are manageable because her mother works on Saturdays (Finty), which provides a good balance for her, and she gets to practice at the Chelmsford ice rink, making it convenient for her.
