Halloween: 3 alien races we’d have no shot against if they were real
As a seasoned gamer and Star Trek enthusiast who has spent countless hours surviving apocalyptic worlds and battling formidable alien creatures, I can confidently say that our modern-day human race would be swiftly annihilated if we ever encountered the likes of the Klingons, Gorn, or Borg in real life.
Star Trek is renowned for its diverse array of fascinating alien species, but it’s also notorious for some of the most terrifying and suspenseful scenes ever depicted. The optimistic vision of the future created by Gene Roddenberry has introduced a roster of dangerous and eerie aliens that challenge the courage of Starfleet crews.
Should a future iteration of ourselves face difficulties, it’s unlikely that the current version of us would fare any better. This is a disheartening aspect of science fiction, particularly in shows like Star Trek. The alien beings depicted could easily outmatch us if they truly existed.
To put it simply, we believe that many of these supposed aliens would easily overpower us, and for the sake of illustration, I will share three hypothetical examples that could dominate us as if we were small children trying to box with grown-ups.
The Klingons
Klingons are characterized as extremely fierce, aggressive, and incredibly powerful. They blend traits similar to Vulcans and Predator aliens; possessing the robustness of a Klingon and the hunting instincts of the Predator. It’s reasonable to assume that if just a few Klingon Birds of Prey were to mount an attack, they could potentially bring about the downfall of humanity in a prolonged, gruesome, and exhausting battle.
The Gorn
If Klingons are analogous to the Predator species from popular science fiction, then one might compare the Gorn to the Xenomorphs from the Alien series within the context of their shared universe. These creatures are swift, fearless, and ravenous, exhibiting a propensity for rapid expansion through various settlements, consuming entire cities in mere days. Given their speed as portrayed in Star Trek: Enterprise, it seems unlikely that humanity could withstand even a year if they were to encounter these beings head-on. They are too swift to engage in conventional combat, too silent to predict, and too cunning to outsmart, making survival a challenging prospect at best.
The Borg
In a universe where our technological superiority was no match for the Borg, one can only imagine how swiftly they would overpower us if they appeared today. Fortunately, their advanced technology doesn’t seem interested in us, but should they develop a desire for assimilation and drones, I fear the human race would barely last a month before surrendering to the collective consciousness.
