As a die-hard Star Wars fan who’s been following Nick Frost’s career since the days of Shaun of the Dead, this news about his involvement in Skeleton Crew has me buzzing like a Tauntaun in a sandstorm! The idea that Frost might be playing more than one role in the series is tantalizingly intriguing.

As a gamer, I’m hyped to share some exciting news! It turns out Nick Frost, from the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, is joining the Star Wars universe in Skeleton Crew. He’ll be lending his voice to a droid named SM-33, who becomes an unexpected ally for our kid protagonists. From what I’ve seen so far, this droid seems to be channeling that swashbuckling pirate vibe that’s been a major theme in the promotional materials. But here’s the kicker: is SM-33 the only character Nick Frost will be playing? Only time will tell!

Discussing his latest horror movie titled “Get Away“, Frost recently shared insights about his career in an extensive interview with “The Hollywood Reporter“. Notably, the conversation steered towards his work on “Skeleton Crew“. In this discussion, he made a significant comment. To be precise, Frost said:

I got a message from Jon Favreau to say just, ‘because you’re a robot doesn’t mean that you can’t appear somewhere as yourself.’

It seems possible that Frost might take on multiple roles, but if so, it would likely just be brief appearances rather than major parts. Please note that this is merely a speculative observation on my part. This idea piqued my interest and I thought it was worth mentioning.

In the expansive universe of Star Wars, it’s common for actors to embody more than one character. For instance, Warrick Davis, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, and Ahmed Best are among those who have taken on multiple roles in live-action scenes set in a distant galaxy. Interestingly, even the renowned composer John Williams made a cameo appearance in The Rise of Skywalker. This doesn’t begin to cover the numerous voice actors who have been part of various Star Wars productions. Some, like David Tennant, have moved between live-action and animated roles, although Tennant has only portrayed Huyang in his case.

It’s possible that Frost might play a significant role in live-action Star Wars beyond SM-33, as he only provides the voice for the droid. He could become the next Glup Shitto or spark countless theories with his appearance. Only time will tell!
