Liam Payne's posthumous single 'Do No Wrong' drops Friday. Some fans are not OK with that

As a devoted fan who has followed Liam Payne’s journey since his days on “The X Factor,” I find myself torn between two emotions upon hearing about the release of his posthumous single, “Do No Wrong.” On one hand, I am overjoyed to have new music from the talented artist, and on the other, I feel a profound sadness that he is not here to experience the success firsthand.

Liam Payne’s musical impact will persist as his posthumous single, titled “Do No Wrong,” drops on a Friday.

On Monday, Grammy-winning producer Sam Pounds, who worked together with Payne on the song, expressed his hope on Twitter that this single would bring solace to fans of the late One Direction member, Harry Styles, who tragically passed away on October 16 after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires.

The ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ singer expressed her hope in a tweet: ‘May this bring blessings to the world, as Liam has always envisioned.’ She added, ‘I pray daily angels comfort each of you while listening. I hope this song brings blessings to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family.’

As a movie buff, I eagerly anticipate this tune to surpass any lingering shadows of negativity. May its extraordinary, mystical power of healing touch everyone, one and all.

The song was composed by Payne, who recently released “Teardrops” in March, and his sister Ruth Gibbins, according to Billboard’s report. Gibbins has yet to speak publicly about the song, but she honored her brother on October 19th through an Instagram post, referring to him as her best friend.

While Pounds presented the song’s launch as a tribute, some social media users didn’t view it that way, instead criticizing the singer for allegedly trying to capitalize on a deceased individual.

On Tuesday, neither Payne’s, Pounds’ nor Gibbins’ representatives got back to us from The Times when we reached out seeking their comments.

User’s comment: “I can’t believe you’re profiting from Liam’s death so soon after he passed away. Give him some time to rest in peace. This is truly inappropriate.

This person hasn’t been laid to rest yet, and you’re already profiting from him? That seems exploitative and disturbing, especially if it’s true that the family isn’t in agreement with this,” is one way of paraphrasing the original statement. The revised sentence maintains the same meaning and tone while using more natural and easy-to-read language.

Others seemed grateful to hear Payne’s voice again.

@BlissfulChelle” tweeted, “I’m genuinely moved to tears just contemplating the thought of new music from him. Liam truly deserved more than he got in the end, and we feel incredibly fortunate that you’re letting us in on this special moment.

@YNehir92 wrote, ‘Sam, thank you so incredibly! This means a lot to us. It’s a small consolation knowing that a song Liam was eager to share was released, as it brings us a bit of solace during these difficult times when we deeply cherish and yearn for him.’

I’m truly excited, Sam, as this is going to be something extraordinary,” I expressed. “Your kindness in providing Liam an opportunity to express himself further is deeply appreciated. It saddens me deeply that he didn’t have a chance to fully showcase his immense talent. He truly deserved every ounce of love and admiration.

31-year-old former “X Factor” contestant and ex-member of One Direction, who launched a solo career following the group’s split in 2015, passed away due to severe injuries sustained from a fall, as indicated by an initial autopsy. Argentine authorities discovered potential drug substances in Payne’s hotel room, along with signs of alcohol and narcotic consumption, including the designer drug referred to as pink cocaine.

On Tuesday, according to Page Six, Payne suffered an overdose and required resuscitation at least once as he battled his drug addiction. It’s reported that the singer had recently completed rehab when he agreed to be a mentor for Netflix’s competition series “Building the Band.” The source claimed that Payne was not fit enough to participate in the series.

It’s yet to be decided what Netflix will do next regarding the show. The series includes Nicole Scherzinger, a friend and ex-judge of Payne from “X Factor”, as well as Kelly Rowland, a member of Destiny’s Child. AJ McLean, a singer from Backstreet Boys, is the host.
