As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of many characters across various mediums, I must confess that the tale of Jonathan Bailey‘s near-naked debut in “Wicked” has piqued my interest more than any other recent cinematic news.
Jonathan Bailey recently disclosed that a nude picture of himself was taken on the set of Wicked. However, he mentioned that this image is unlikely to be publicly displayed.
In this movie adaptation from the popular stage musical, we see the story unfold about Elphaba, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo, and Glinda, played by Ariana Grande, who become friends while attending college. Their bond eventually transforms into a contentious rivalry.
Before the movie’s premiere on November 22nd, Bailey conducted a promotional interview through the film’s official Instagram account. He mentioned that an unexpected travel issue had caused him to be short on clothes while getting ready to play the character Fiyero Tigelaar.
My initial face-to-face encounter, since I was about to portray Fiyero, was with the individual who crafted my ‘Dancing Through Life’ boots,” he started. “I believe I traveled there on a Tuesday, and then from Wednesday to Saturday, I was shooting Bridgerton.
Upon my arrival, nothing was delivered. All I possessed were my Fiyero boots. Interestingly, there’s a captivating image, destined to remain unseen, of me standing only in my boots – a peculiar fitting representation of the character Fiyero, somehow.
As Bailey pondered over the revealing picture, it’s worth noting that another actor might have portrayed Fiyero. Interestingly, Nick Jonas disclosed that he and his brother Joe had both tried out for the part during the casting process.
Nick shared, “Indeed, Joe and I were both there. However, the part eluded us.” He added, “Being an actor is like that; this time it was for the character Fiyero. I felt quite content leaving the audition room.
I absolutely love the show, and I’ve always imagined myself in that part as a fun challenge. However, I believe Jonathan will excel in it, and I’m confident the film will be fantastic.
