Fans get first look at Jeremy Allen White in Bruce Springsteen biopic, and they’re all saying the same thing
As a long-time fan of both Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White, I am absolutely thrilled to hear about this upcoming biopic! Having grown up with the Boss’s music blasting through my childhood home, I can only imagine how perfect it is for Jeremy to bring Bruce to life on the big screen.
Audience members were given an initial glimpse of Jeremy Allen White playing the role of Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biographical film, leading some to speculate about the similarity between the actor and the renowned artist.
On Monday, a picture shared by 20th Century Studios depicted White, aged 33, wearing a leather jacket with a flannel button-down shirt in the upcoming movie “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” set to hit theaters in 2025.
Although the Golden Globe winner seems to embody Springsteen’s melancholic expression, many social media users argue that he bears no resemblance to the famous rocker.
One user on X commented, ‘Apologies, but I’m a fan of JAW and believe he’ll excel, nonetheless; however, his resemblance to Bruce Springsteen seems absent, and I find this casting decision rather unusual.’

In the early ’80s, Bruce Springsteen was famous for his straightforward and timeless aesthetic, frequently donning denim jeans, flannel shirts, T-shirts, and leather jackets.
In the photograph, attempting to emulate Springsteen’s fashion style didn’t fully persuade a lot of people that he was the ideal candidate for portraying the Born in the USA singer.
Some on social media claimed the image showed nothing but ‘Jeremy Allen White in a plaid shirt.’
‘So Jeremy Allen White as… Jeremy Allen White… in denim,’ one X user wrote.
‘Still looks like Jeremy Allen White wearing a Bruce Springsteen outfit,’ another added.
yet another wrote: ‘This is the most Jeremey Allen White that Jeremy Allen White has ever looked.’
Other social media users were nonetheless excited to see White playing Springsteen.

Another claimed that the actor can ‘bring intense’ to the role.
Another person put it this way: ‘It’s clear to me. He possesses a rough, yet attractive charm similar to the way Bruce appeared in his younger years, often referred to as “ruggedly unattractive.”‘
The movie “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is based on a novel of the same title penned by Warren Zane. According to its director and screenwriter, Scott Cooper, working on this project was both incredibly humbling and exhilarating.
In a statement to Variety, Cooper expressed that the album’s honest, uncensored depiction of life’s struggles and strength struck a deep chord within him.
The goal of our movie is to convey the same inspiring essence found in Warren Zanes’ story about Bruce’s life. We strive to portray this tale honestly and with optimism on the big screen, respecting Bruce’s memory by delivering an emotionally moving cinematic journey.
The main filming sites will be various places in both New York and New Jersey, yet some scenes might get filmed in Los Angeles as well.
Allen’s co-stars include Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, and Stephen Graham.
The performer from “The Bear” was highly considered for the role of Springsteen, and it was officially announced that he would be the main character in the movie in April.
White revealed to Deadline last month how ‘excited’ he was to star in the film.
White remarked that he has a truly wonderful group of individuals assisting him, and not only has Bruce been kind and helpful, but also consistently available. This, in turn, has significantly enhanced the overall pleasure of the entire experience for him.
Earlier this month, Springsteen expressed positivity regarding the upcoming biopic, stating that he was pleased with the overall progress of the venture.
‘I’ve seen the scripts and I’ve talked to the director,’ Springsteen said.
“They are currently assembling everything, so there isn’t much for me to discuss at the moment, but I am looking forward to seeing it come to fruition.
