As a seasoned Star Wars gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, this news about The Mandalorian and Grogu has sent shockwaves through the Force within me! Ever since I first watched A New Hope on my family’s old VHS player, I’ve been hooked, and this latest announcement feels like a dream come true.
Based on reports from Puck News, it seems that the production for “The Mandalorian” along with Grogu has wrapped up. This intriguing piece of information appears to be substantiated by Collider’s confirmation.
Based on reports from Collider, it appears that “The Mandalorian and Grogu” (a new Star Wars production) might be hitting theaters in May 2026. This is exciting news for fans, and there’s a strong possibility that Lucasfilm will officially announce this at D23, an event happening next month in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Reports suggest that the fourth season of “The Mandalorian” may be transformed into a film, although Lucasfilm hasn’t yet confirmed this. Fans might not want to hold their breath for this change, as Dave Filoni was noncommittal about the movie’s implications for the show’s future earlier in the year. With many fans eagerly awaiting more of “The Mandalorian” and Grogu, Lucasfilm seems reluctant to rule out the possibility of another season altogether, keeping the door slightly ajar on their groundbreaking live-action series.
In the upcoming episodes, we can expect the main character, the Mandalorian, along with his young green companion Grogu, to reappear. The Mandalorian, also known as Din Djarin, is set to resume his bounty-hunting profession, this time working on freelance assignments for the New Republic to track down remaining Imperial forces. Their life on Nevarro may be explored, and it seems they’ll find themselves drawn back into the fray after enjoying a peaceful period in their new residence.
In the upcoming adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu, while many details about the cast remain unclear, it has been confirmed that Sigourney Weaver will join Pedro Pascal. Characters like Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) might make an appearance at some point. There’s a high probability that characters from Star Wars Rebels such as Zeb Orrellios, Hera Syndulla, Jacen Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger could be part of the story too. During D23 in August, a teaser showed Zeb Orrellios, suggesting his friends might get involved as well.
The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026.
