I recently tried out a cool game called Alien Morgue, a sci-fi title now available on both Android and iOS. It was created by indie developer BurGum Games (Artem Gumennikov) and was originally released on PC through Steam. Now, it’s been adapted for mobile devices.
Alien Morgue is set in a dystopian world centered around corporate-controlled immortality
In this game, you play as an alien doctor who investigates deaths. You’ll examine alien bodies to figure out what happened to them, identify what species they belong to, and determine how they died. You’ll use a database to learn about different alien anatomies, perform dissections, and use clues like physical traits, job, and species to identify each body.
Alien Morgue takes place on a bleak alien planet where people are fixated on living forever, using special cryocapsules managed by a huge, controlling company. What begins as a simple job quickly becomes more complex, revealing a secret plot connected to the corporation you work for.
The story is also deeply personal. You play someone who takes on this job after the loss of their spouse, hoping to earn enough to be reunited with them. Throughout the game, you’ll face tough decisions with real consequences, impacting the story and leading to different possible endings.
The game draws inspiration from the popular indie titles Papers, Please and Strange Horticulture, both of which center around identification – people in one, and plants in the other. It also incorporates elements of the quirky humor found in Rick and Morty and the mysterious atmosphere of The X-Files.
Alien Morgue is now available on Android and iOS with a unique try-before-you-buy option. You can play the first 7 days for free, and if you enjoy it, a single purchase unlocks the complete game. The full version features 25 days of gameplay, 9 different endings, and is completely free of ads.
