Comedian puts Lauren Phillips in her place during awkward interview: ‘Screw you’

During the breakfast show on Monday on Nova FM with hosts Jase and Lauren, Phillips inquired if the actress from Fisk had any influence over the release strategy of her popular Netflix series.
The breakfast radio host posed a question: “Can you decide whether you release episodes weekly or an entire season at once, since I’ve become a devoted binge-watcher?
After that, Kitty retorted with a typical touch of sass: “Oh, absolutely! However, let me enlighten you, it took me an astounding nine months to create this.
“If you’re interested, this will take about three hours to watch. But to really savor the experience, I’d recommend setting aside around six weeks for it instead. That way, you can look forward to it and truly enjoy every moment.
Kitty continued her comedic rant as she made Lauren aware of the virtue of patience.
‘If you want to binge it, you can just wait six weeks and then watch it all online.’
Yet, Lauren continued her quest to discover if Kitty holds authority over the scheduling of the show’s broadcast.
‘So you get to decide if that’s how you do it?’
Kitty replied playfully, ‘Am I the one making decisions here? It seems more like I can express my displeasure through a series of sighs and exclamations: huff-huff, ehhhhhhh!! But let’s not reveal everything at once, let’s hope they understand.’
It follows shortly that Lauren is reportedly seeking a substantial salary increase following her Nova FM radio show outperforming its main competitor, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, in ratings.
Last year, the radio show hosted by Lauren and her co-host Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins was terminated from KIIS FM in order to allow Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson to broaden their operations extensively into Melbourne.
However, the pair exacted their final vengeance by shifting to competing station Nova FM, where their program consistently outperforms Kyle and Jackie O’s in Melbourne radio rankings.
Lauren is now said to be asking for a ‘massive increase’ following the success of the show.
According to a source from Daily Mail Australia, Lauren Phillips and her co-host Jase Hawkins are thriving in their market. However, it’s been revealed that Lauren aspires to match the earnings of Kyle and Jackie O.
But the insider says Lauren is completely out of her league. In the pecking order she is still relatively new on radio compared to Kyle and Jackie O, who have been on the airwaves for almost two decades.
The morning team on Sydney’s KIIS FM radio station has a whopping $200 million contract, far surpassing their colleagues in Melbourne. Yet, it seems they operate in completely separate spheres, according to an inside source.
It’s clear where she’s set her boundaries, but it seems that Jase and Lauren, despite their skills, don’t possess the same market appeal as Kyle and Jackie O. Moreover, they haven’t built up their brand to the extent that Hughsey and Kate have.
‘Nova also doesn’t have that kind of money to be paying talent over their worth.’
The insider added that the salary conversation is out of control and radio has always been an uneven playing field.
