Aussie star unrecognisable as they dress up as AFL star Bailey Smith for Halloween
As an ardent fan who has followed Courtney Act’s career from her Australian Idol days to her drag superstardom, I must say this Halloween transformation into AFL star Bailey Smith was nothing short of spectacular! The resemblance was uncanny, and the attention to detail, from the mullet wig to the moustache, was impeccable.
Over the weekend, Courtney Act underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming virtually unrecognizable as AFL star Bailey Smith for Halloween.
The Australian drag queen, aged 42, temporarily abandoned her typically glamorous appearance, striking a strong resemblance to the sports personality instead.
The artist donned the old Western Bulldogs attire once worn by the AFL player, standing confidently with her arms crossed over her body during a photo shoot.
Courtney also wore a wig which resembled Smith’s iconic mullet and a moustache.
The original text reads: ‘I can’t score a goal, but I can deliver a stare. Switching careers – it’s not football for me anymore; instead, I’ve become a drag king, embodying the essence of Bailey Smith.’
‘In case you’re not already aware, let me introduce you to @bazlenka. He happens to be the most beloved AFL player among all gay men, and as far as we know, he’s the only AFL player they are familiar with.’
Many of Courtney’s fans and celebrity friends praised her on the ‘incredible’ costume.
‘This is incredible,’ Sophie Monk wrote, while Imogen Anthony commented: ‘Fml so so GOOD.’
‘You win Halloween 2024,’ another person said while one added: ‘You’re THE BEST.’
‘OH MY GOD!! I actually thought it WAS him at first glance! You are amazing,’ another agreed.
Courtney is the drag persona of Shane Jenek who first rose to fame on Australian Idol in 2003.
Previously this year, the renowned drag queen astonished Sophie Monk and left Joel Creasey speechless with her witty remark during an appearance on The Hundred alongside Andy Lee.
In an unforeseen twist during the special “Pride” episode, the conversation among the welcoming panel deviated from the norm when the host, Andy, steered the discussion towards the nightlife customs of Australians in nightclubs, a topic relevant to their queer-friendly environment.
‘Next question, on the dance floor, twenty-six percent of Australians have done what?’ he inquired.
However, Lee – nor Monk or Creasy – anticipated Act’s response.
‘Been f**gered?’ she replied to both uproarious laughter and shock.
Sophie appeared visibly troubled by Courtney’s answer.
‘On a dance floor?’ she screeched in horror. ‘I’m from Brisbane, I’m sorry,’ Courtney snapped back.
