Match 1
In this match, Gen.G fielded a heavily tank-focused lineup, but it wasn’t sufficient to thwart Gumayushi. A well-executed dive in the bottom lane by Gen.G appeared promising, but turned out to be detrimental instead: two flash abilities were squandered, and Zeu’s Gragas character remained undefeated.
In this year’s League of Legends Worlds 2024, both teams opted for the popular strategy known as lane-swapping. The pressure was on, especially with Gen.G starting to exhibit some tension. T1 executed three void grubs, while Gen.G focused on Drake. Keria was actively supporting his teammates across all lanes, bolstering their confidence. In a skirmish resembling Harold, Oner attempted an aggressive move but met his demise, seemingly in a full-scale battle. Gen.G secured the first blood and the first turret.
As a gamer, I’d say the match was evenly paced, not too many intense clashes between Gen.G and T1. However, things started to tilt in favor of Gen.G as they began to dominate map control, snatching kills and objectives here and there. To be honest, Gen.G became a bit of a nuisance for T1, constantly asserting their dominance.
On the upper side, Team 1 managed to eliminate Leona while claiming three lives, whereas Gen.G could take down just two opponents. This was clearly a suboptimal move by Gen.G, leading to an impressive triple-kill by Gumayushi, the sole ADC of the team who remains invincible. And with that, the game concluded in favor of Team 1. The victory is T1’s.
Match 2
In the second round, Bin and Elk, hailing from BLG, found themselves among the spectators, eagerly observing their potential challenger for the grand finals!
Apart from boasting an impressive audience, General G also held a shocking draft pick: Oner’s Kindred. However, their self-assurance was remarkable; they approached this match in an unexpected manner. In the bottom lane, Gen.G managed to eliminate two opponents, but the kills were credited to Skarner and Kai’Sa. What a strong start by Team Gen.G!
In this matchup, Peyz escapes both Faker and Kindred. Canyon manages to collect three mysterious creatures from the void. Later on, Peyz successfully eliminates Faker. The situation seemed unfavorable for Team T1. However, the game eventually balanced out with minimal clashes. Both teams primarily concentrated on pushing the side lanes. Gen.G gradually took control of the game, making smart choices and completing all the objectives across the map.
Gradually, Team T1 found themselves losing all their assets. The remarkable display by Gen.G showcased a stark contrast to their initial game. Gen.G successfully raided T1’s base, securing the victory with no mistakes whatsoever. It was nearly a flawless performance by them.
Match 3
Oner was read like a book and is watched by four Gen.G players, the first blood goes to Peyz. Gen.G does the Drake and T1 the three void grubs. Lehends was protecting Kiin as much as he could since the matchup against Gragas was too difficult for Jax. But when they thought T1 was recalling, Kiin was cached and the kills went to Oner.
Initially, Team 1 aimed to claim map dominance, leaving the remaining three opponents in checkmate. In an exhilarating battle, Team 1 managed to eliminate two Gen.G players, accomplish the objective, and secure one turret. Their performance became virtually unbeatable. The use of Renata Glasc’s ultimate was overpowered, causing quite a stir among the audience! The crowd went wild for Faker!
In a massive T1 stronghold, Lehends and Canyon are stored. On the top lane, Kiin succumbs, making the game seem grim for Gen.G. Within fifteen minutes, T1 had taken control of the game and were dominating it so fiercely that Gen.G couldn’t turn the tide.
Gen.G struggled to make a favorable pick, as T1’s dominance proved too formidable. Baron was brimming with wards, and T1 seemed to have mastery over every inch of the map. The third game ended in their favor: T1 clinched the victory. Faker neared his 7th League of Legends Worlds finals, needing just one more win!
Match 4
In the opening moments of the game, General (Gen.G) found themselves at a significant disadvantage: they had lost two flashes in the bottom lane, which cast a negative tone over their fourth match. It was indeed an impressive start by Team 1 (T1). The first kill of the game was credited to Faker.
The fighting in the game moved slowly, but Team T1 accumulated an excessive amount of gold, putting Gen.G at a significant disadvantage. They were already far behind. Lehends struggled during the semi-final, often finding himself caught off guard. A double kill for Zeus was crucial for T1, making their position look extremely strong at the 20-minute mark. Gen.G needed to concentrate hard on their gameplay to catch up.
On the top lane, General G put every effort into maintaining their position and securing two kills. They were determined to hold on for as long as possible. General G aimed to shift the tide of the game, but it seemed impossible. Although they managed to defeat T1, their efforts ultimately fell short.
Gen.G managed to regain some gold lead during their match and seized two turrets, but T1 wasn’t ready to let this semifinal extend to a fifth game; they wanted to secure victory immediately. And they did just that, ensuring their spot in the grand finals of League of Legends Worlds 2024.
