Cillian Murphy’s British action comedy is on TV tonight

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for action-packed movies, I can confidently say that my anticipation for tonight’s airing of Cillian Murphy’s “Free Fire” on Film4 at 10.55pm is off the charts! With an all-star cast and a plot revolving around a botched arms deal gone wrong, this movie promises to be an exhilarating ride that I can’t afford to miss.

Cillian Murphy is riding high after receiving an Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer earlier this year, marking a peak in his career.

Lately, the Irish actor has confirmed he’ll reprise his role as Thomas Shelby in the upcoming Netflix film of “Peaky Blinders,” a highly anticipated project. Additionally, his latest movie titled “Small Things Like These” will be premiering in UK theaters on November 1st, having received positive reviews from critics.

Prior to this, you have a chance to watch Murphy’s 2016 action comedy “Free Fire”, a film featuring an impressive ensemble cast, on TV tonight (October 27). The broadcast will be on Film4 at 10:55 PM.

If you already had plans, though, you can also stream the movie on Prime Video and ITVX.

Alongside Murphy, well-known Marvel Cinematic Universe actress Brie Larson, Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer, Jack Reynor, Babou Ceesay, Enzo Cilenti, Sam Riley, Michael Smiley, and Noah Taylor have also been added to the cast.

Under the guidance of British director Ben Wheatley, the movie titled Free Fire unfolds as an amusing and intense action-drama, depicting the chaotic aftermath of a botched black-market gun sale.

1978 Boston serves as the backdrop for this tale, which revolves around a pair of IRA members looking to acquire automatic firearms from a volatile businessman. The atmosphere becomes increasingly tense within an abandoned warehouse during their encounter, leading both groups to exchange gunfire and find themselves ensnared in a dangerous game of survival.

At the Toronto International Film Festival’s global debut, the film garnered favorable responses, earning it an impressive 70% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 240 critiques.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can confidently say that “Free Fire” doesn’t miss when it comes to delivering on the action-thriller front, consistently hitting its mark with enthusiasm and zest – even if it falls slightly short in terms of cinematic elegance.

Prior to his comeback with “Peaky Blinders”, Cillian Murphy is set to appear in an upcoming Netflix film titled “Steve”. In this production, he not only stars but also produces. Based on Max Porter’s popular book “Shy”, the movie depicts Murphy as a headteacher who courageously battles to prevent a reform college from shutting down.

As a dedicated admirer, I’m thrilled to share that “Steve” is the inaugural film under the banner of our cherished production house, Big Things Films – a visionary venture co-founded by me and my trusted partner, Alan Moloney, over time.

Free Fire is airing on Film4 at 10.55pm tonight (October 27).
