Matthew Perry's Pacific Palisades mansion sells for $8.5M - one year after his tragic ketamine death

As a devoted fan of Matthew Perry and his extraordinary talent that brought Chandler Bing to life, it is with a heavy heart that I write about the sale of his former Pacific Palisades home. The news brings back memories of the joy his presence brought us, not just on our screens but also in his genuine interactions off-camera.

In a private transaction, Matthew Perry’s late residence in Pacific Palisades was purchased for $8.55 million, exactly a year following his unfortunate demise.

Approximately one year following his death discovered on October 28, 2023, at age 54 in a hot tub within his mansion, the beloved Friends actor’s spacious 3,500-square-foot residence was acquired by film producer and property developer Anita Verma-Lallian, residing in Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Verma-Lallian intends to use the property as a ‘vacation home.’

Perry bought the four-bedroom home back in 2020 for $6 million.

Before buying his last home, the Fools Rush In actor sold a mansion in Malibu and a ritzy penthouse in Century City.

Before his passing, Perry often posted pictures showcasing his house, pool area, and garden. His affection for Batman was evident, as decorative pieces of the superhero were noticeable throughout his residence.

To be precise, his final Instagram post showed him relaxing in the hot tub where he later passed away, with the city’s lights shimmering in the background as twinkles.

The medical examiner determined that his demise resulted from an accident caused by excessive ketamine, a substance known for its immediate impact. Additionally, traces of buprenorphine, a drug commonly employed in combating opioid dependency, were detected within him.

Contributing factors in his death were given as drowning and coronary artery disease.

The 3,000 square foot property on Blue Sail Drive was built in 1965 as a modest ranch-style house.

Since then, it has experienced a significant makeover, as Perry imparted his unique style onto the expansive property.

He completely revamped the property, trading in a light oak floor for a darker wood and boho furniture for much brighter colors.

This impressive house, boasting four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, sits atop a hillside offering breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Several of its rooms provide expansive views of the Pacific.

This coming Monday, the 28th of October, Suzanne Morrison, Perry’s mom, along with her husband, Keith Morrison, are set to share insights about Perry’s last days in an interview with Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show. This discussion marks a year since his passing.

On a video preview released on Friday, Suzanne, aged 81, mentioned that Perry had shown her one of his recently built homes. She went on to say that he approached her and expressed, “I adore you immensely and I’m overjoyed to be spending time with you now.

In an uncanny twist, it felt eerily prophetic in the moment, yet I didn’t give it much thought then. Reflecting now, I can’t help but wonder, “How many years has it been since our last heart-to-heart like that?” It seems like a lifetime ago.

It seemed as though the events unfolding were destined or unavoidable for him, a sense of which he felt intensely. Yet, he declared, “I’m no longer afraid.” This statement left me concerned.
